Netizens Call Out T-ara’s Hyomin’s Inappropriate Language in Recent Social Media Post

Amidst controversy over a post she uploaded on social media, Hyomin left an explanation and apologized.

On the afternoon of March 8th, Hyomin posted a video and wrote, “I was really pissed off after watching M’s show yesterday… my skirt is already short, but it should be even shorter…”.

In the video, Hyomin is seen wearing a short skirt, a hoodie, and a jacket with a backpack, taking a mirror selfie.

The reason why the video caused controversy is because of the words she used.

The tone “~노” is known to be used in a community called Ilbe, which has extreme right-wing views, to insult former President Roh Moo-hyun.

The phrase “이기” is also known to be used on Ilbe with the purpose of insulting former President Roh Moo-hyun.

Eventually, Hyomin deleted the post after it sparked controversy and apologized, saying “I thought this was a dialect with the same meaning as ‘meoseon129’. I will be careful from now on”.

Meanwhile, Hyomin, born in 1989, debuted in 2009 as a member of T-ara and is now 34 years old.
