IU Donates 100 Million Won For The Victims Of Wildfire In Uljin

The wildfire that started in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do has spread to Samcheok, Gangwon, and the damage is increasing.

In the midst of this, singer and actress IU donated 100 million won to help victims of forest fires.

According to Hope Bridge on March 5, IU donated 100 million won to the forest fire victims.

The donations delivered by IU will be used to support temporary prefabricated housing for those who have lost their homes due to wildfires. 

Hope Bridge Secretary-General Kim Jeong Hee said, “We will do our best to support all the necessary things until the victims return to their daily lives with IU’s warm help at a time when many victims who have lost their homes due to sudden forest fires are in difficult pain and worries.”

IU has been consistently donating since her debut in 2008. 

It is known that she donated over 1.5 billion won in 2021 alone. 

Meanwhile, the fire in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province, has been spreading for two days with strong winds. As of 5 pm in March 5, the area of ​​impact of the forest fire was found to be 11,145 ha (Uljin 9489 ha, Samcheok 656 ha).
