“It’s really scary” — Cha Eun Woo’s presence at ‘MTV VMAJ 2023’ overshadowed by ‘stabbing’ incident

A scary situation unfolded at the ‘MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2023‘ attended by Cha Eun Woo and other celebrities. Thankfully, none of the artists were hurt, but a fan in the audience got stabbed and is now in the hospital with moderate injuries.

The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. on the 23rd at ‘K-Arena Yokohama‘ in Japan, where the awards show had been happening since 2 p.m. Notable figures like Cha Eun Woo and Japanese singer-actor Yamashita Tomohisa were present.

Local police reported that a woman in her 40s was stabbed in the abdomen by an attacker at the venue. Quick response teams, including four ambulances, rushed to the scene, and the police are currently on the lookout for the assailant.

An eyewitness, a woman in her 50s, shared, “I was waiting for an artist’s autograph when police and ambulances arrived. It’s really scary that something like this could happen.”

Despite the unsettling incident, Cha Eun Woo was present and even received the ‘Global Icon Award‘ at the ceremony.

In response to inquiries about the incident, Cha Eun Woo‘s agency, Fantagio, told MyDaily on the 24th, “We haven’t received any specific information about the artist’s safety in the local context.”
