Lee Hyori admits to feeling fearful when messaging her younger colleagues, such as BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Sunmi

Lee Hyori expressed her unique fondness for her junior artists during her appearance on the YouTube talk show ‘No Back Tak Jae Hoon’ on November 9. Co-host Shin Kyu Jin conducted an interrogation-style interview, delving into Lee Hyori‘s career and choices.

As Shin examined her profile, he pointed out Lee Hyori‘s apparent change of heart regarding commercial endorsements. Despite previously stating she would no longer do advertisements, she has been filming many lately.

In response, Lee Hyori confidently stated, “Whether I do commercial advertisements or not, what does it matter to you guys?”

She further questioned, “Isn’t this already past the statute of limitations? It’s been 25 years, do I still have to be investigated?” Tak Jae Hoon firmly reminded her that times have changed and things don’t pass over easily.

Next, Tak Jae Hoon asked Lee Hyori why she agreed to appear on his talk show. Lee Hyori playfully rebutted, “You only invite nice kids who won’t talk back to you. So I came to fix that.” She jokingly added, “I didn’t come here to promote my new song. I came to see you, Tak Jae Hoon, since it’s been so long.”

Recently making a comeback with her new single ‘Hoodie e banbaji,’ Lee Hyori displayed a relaxed attitude, expressing that she is no longer nervous before performances. She also disclosed that in her free time, she enjoys watching clips of girl groups on Instagram.

Lee Hyori explained, “When I’m stressed, I find solace in watching beautiful girl groups on Instagram. Nowadays, Jennie, NewJeans, and other girls are all so pretty.” She confessed that she often sends direct messages (DMs) to her junior artists, offering words of encouragement and expressing her desire to collaborate.

Tak Jae Hoon inquired, “Have you ever sent DMs to Jennie, LE SSERAFIM, SEVENTEEN, IVE, and Sunmi?” Lee Hyori admitted, “To the really big ones… I feel like I might get ignored. The company suggested I appear on YouTube shows with Young ji and Jo Hyun Ah, but I declined because I didn’t want to get discouraged.”
