Korean Netizens Slam Reporters for Spreading Fake News on G-Dragon’s Case

The South Korean entertainment industry is currently embroiled in a drug scandal, and one celebrity at the center of it all is G-Dragon. About two weeks ago, reports started circulating that G-Dragon was suspected of drug use.

In response, G-Dragon quickly released a statement through his legal representative, vehemently denying all allegations of drug use. He even voluntarily presented himself for questioning at the police station and passed a preliminary drug test.

Despite G-Dragon‘s cooperation, Korean news media outlets have been relentless in their coverage of the artist’s drug case. Many outlets criticized G-Dragon, even though there was no evidence to support the claims of drug use. Recent reports even suggested that G-Dragon had removed all of his body hair, potentially tampering with evidence.

However, G-Dragon‘s legal representative refuted these claims, stating that they were completely untrue. The court also rejected the case due to a lack of evidence, and no search and seizure warrant related to hair was issued.

In response to the false reports by journalists, a K-netizen took to an online community to share some key points about G-Dragon‘s drug case. They clarified that G-Dragon hadn’t dyed or bleached his hair in over a year and five months, debunking rumors about recent hair changes.

They also pointed out that the reports of his full-body hair removal were groundless. The netizen listed several pieces of evidence obtained, including hair strands, nails, and body hair, and explained why collecting leg hair specifically was unnecessary.

They criticized tabloid media for stirring up the public with misleading articles about the omission of leg hairs. However, the police confirmed that this omission wasn’t tampering with evidence, and the initial reporting media had to issue a correction.

K-netizens also joined the online community to express their frustration with the false reports about G-Dragon. They questioned why journalists would continue to write articles that weren’t true and criticized them for tormenting G-Dragon with fake news.

They called out the violation of journalistic ethics and described the continuous publishing of false articles as abuse. Some even suggested that the journalists were behaving in a crazy manner and urged them to leave G-Dragon alone.

Overall, they believed that the media was purposely trying to manipulate the situation by publishing damaging articles without evidence, tarnishing G-Dragon‘s reputation.
