Lee Sun Bin is poised to solidify her status as the “Rom-Com Queen” with her upcoming role in the tvN drama “Potato Research Institute,” where she will star alongside Kang Tae Oh, fresh from completing his military service.

The drama, helmed by writer Kim Ho-soo and director Kang Il-soo, known for their work on the hit series “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung,” promises a delightful romantic comedy set in an unconventional potato research institute.

In “Potato Research Institute,” Lee Sun Bin takes on the role of Kim Mi-kyung, a seasoned potato researcher with twelve years of experience. Despite her initial appearance as a long-term job seeker, Mi-kyung surprises everyone with her vast knowledge of biological terms and her dedication to developing the perfect potato, aptly named “Mi-kyung,” through a clandestine project.

Despite her vow to avoid office romances, Mi-kyung finds herself falling for the institute’s new director, So Baek-ho, portrayed by Kang Tae Oh. Their relationship begins with misunderstandings but gradually blossoms into something more.

Kang Tae Oh, known for his captivating smile, gentle demeanor, and striking visuals, embodies the character of So Baek-ho, a man who lacks social connections and basic courtesy despite his charming exterior.

Lee Sun Bin, who awaits the release of several films, including “The Sound of Breath” and “Noise,” brings her talent to the forefront once again after her recent appearances in “Boys Over Flowers” and the upcoming series “Mission Possible.”

Meanwhile, Kang Tae Oh, who gained international acclaim for his role in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” maintained his momentum during his military hiatus with a special appearance in the film “Target.”

With both actors renowned for their immersive performances, fans eagerly anticipate the unique chemistry they will bring to “Potato Research Institute.”
