“Jennie’s Musical Independence”—BLACKPINK Jennie Expresses the Drive for Her Personal Label “I wanted to promote freely”

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie recently talked about why she decided to leave YG Entertainment to work on her own projects and start her own agency.

On January 2, Jennie was the first guest on the highly anticipated music talk show “The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet” on KBS 2TV. The show was led by the famous singer Lee Hyori.

This is her first public solo event since starting her own agency, Odd Atelier.

The famous K-pop star said, “This is my first time being on a KBS music show.”

Hyori unnie is who I came to see.

Thanks for inviting me.
Lee Hyori was interested in why Jennie started her own agency during the conversation.

Jennie said, “I will continue to do group activities (with YG) but I wanted to do solo activities more freely so I carefully established (my own label).”

She went on, “There is a group of people who have been with me for a long time (at my label).”

I wanted to be able to do any events and promotions I wanted.

She also talked about what her company’s name, “ODD ATELIER,” means. “It has the intention to do well even if my path is strange and different from others,” Jennie said.

Thank you very much for your help in the future.

Jennie also showed her love for YG by saying, “I’ve worked for this company since I was a trainee, so I learned a lot from them.”

We’re still getting along well.

On the other hand, KBS’s late-night music show “The Seasons” has a total of four seasons.

The past seasons have been led by Jay Park, Jannabi‘s Choi Jung Hoon, and AKMU.

A lot of people were interested in the show when it was announced that Lee Hyori would be the fourth host.

The first show of “The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet” with Jennie will air on January 5 at 11:20 PM KST.
