“I pulled it myself…”— Alleged IVE’s Jang Wonyoung Hair Auctioned Online, Fans and Critics Clash

The controversial auction of what is believed to be IVE Jang Wonyoung‘s hair has sparked discussions online.

According to Chinese portal NetEase, a Chinese netizen named A is currently conducting an auction to sell three strands of hair, claiming to be from Jang Wonyoung, through an online second-hand trading platform.

In the auction listing, Mr. A included a picture of the three strands of hair and stated, “I pulled it myself at the concert.

Identification is also possible with DNA.” However, the authenticity of the hair has not been confirmed.

The auction has gained attention due to its starting price of 99,999 yuan (approximately 18.74 million won).

Numerous bidders reportedly participated, and the price for the hair supposedly soared to 103,662 yuan (approximately 19.15 million won). The auction is scheduled to end on the 2nd of the next month.

The news has led to discussions about the ethical concerns of selling a part of someone’s body without their consent. In the past, celebrities like Madonna have taken legal action to stop auctions of items related to their body, citing a violation of their right to privacy.
