BLACKPINK Gets Prestigious MBE Award from King Charles III — Will Lisa Quit ‘BLACKPINK’?

The King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, recently presented the girl group BLACKPINK with an honorable medal.

The award ceremony took place on November 22nd at Buckingham Palace, where the Order of British Empire (MBE) was bestowed upon BLACKPINK in recognition of their significant contributions and outstanding accomplishments in various fields.

BLACKPINK was specifically acknowledged for their efforts in raising global awareness about the importance of addressing climate change.

They served as ambassadors for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which the UK chaired in 2021.

This prestigious medal has been previously awarded to well-known figures like The Beatles and Adele, highlighting the joy and prestige associated with receiving such an honor.

It is important to note that the medal was awarded to BLACKPINK as a group, emphasizing their collective achievements rather than individual accomplishments.

However, the members of BLACKPINK, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, have each demonstrated their talents and success in various fields, including music, albums, and even acting.

While recognizing the individual efforts and talents of each member, it is evident that the name ‘BLACKPINK‘ played a crucial role in this distinguished achievement.

The group’s popularity and recognition contributed to their selection for this honor. Currently, it is known that Rosé has renewed her contract with YG, the entertainment agency representing BLACKPINK.

However, it remains uncertain whether Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa will extend their contracts with YG. Rumors and speculations have surfaced regarding the possibility that the three members may not continue their journey under YG.

One media outlet reported that BLACKPINK agreed to sign a group contract with YG for group promotions, rather than individual activities. YG has maintained that the contract renewal issue is still under discussion.

However, many individuals in the industry believe that it is unlikely for the three members, excluding Rosé, to re-sign with YG. Particularly, Lisa has been surrounded by various rumors and controversies since her exclusive contract with YG expired.

Despite her immense popularity with solo songs like ‘LALISA’ and ‘MONEY’, her achievements have been attributed to the name “BLACKPINK‘s Lisa“. Undoubtedly, Lisa has the potential to pursue a successful solo career.

However, there is a noticeable distinction between solo artist Lisa and Lisa from BLACKPINK. Under YG, she received proper management and support, which may be challenging to replicate without the backing of an entertainment agency.

Additionally, there is a possibility that her personal fanbase may decline when she ventures out as a solo singer, as many fans might be more familiar with her image as BLACKPINK‘s Lisa rather than Lisa as an individual.
