Song Kang Ho set to make TV comeback with new show “Uncle Samsik” on Disney+

Actor Song Kang Ho‘s highly anticipated drama “Uncle Samsik” may soon be available for streaming on Disney+. According to OSEN, talks are underway for the drama to be aired on the popular streaming platform.

Although a contract with Disney+ has yet to be signed, it appears unlikely that “Uncle Samsik” will be broadcast on traditional terrestrial, cable, or satellite channels.

With a production cost of 40 billion won, “Uncle Samsik” is slated to release on an OTT platform. While both Netflix and Disney+ have expressed interest, it has been revealed that Disney+ is the frontrunner.

Written and directed by Shin Yeon-shik, “Uncle Samsik” is a 10-episode drama that delves into the passionate desires and bromance between Uncle Samsik (played by Song Kang Ho) and the super-elite Kim San (played by Byun Yo-han). Their story explores themes of love, trust, and doubt.

The drama boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Song Kang Ho, Byun Yo Han, Lee Kyu Hyung, Seo Hyun Woo, and Jin Ki Joo.

Initially scheduled to air in the second half of 2023, the final confirmation of the release date is still pending.
