‘Queen of Tears’ star Park Sung Hoon reveals he is the complete opposite of Eun Sung: “I’m scared of ghost”

Queen of Tears’ star Park Sung Hoon recently opened up about his challenging student days. In a heartfelt confession, he revealed the struggles he faced during a period of financial hardship.

On April 28th, a preview titled “Park Sung Hoon, Tears During Confession of Poverty for 7 Years Living in a Basement Like ‘Parasite’” was released on the YouTube channel ‘You Quiz on the Block.’ The actor, who portrayed a villain in popular dramas such as ‘The Glory’ and ‘Queen of Tears,’ garnered immense love from viewers.

During the video, Park Sung Hoon’s appearance prompted a candid remark from host Yoo Jae Suk, who exclaimed, “You look so bad!” The discussion turned to the challenges of playing a villain on screen.

When fellow host Jo Se Ho suggested that embodying such roles might be difficult unless it aligns with one’s natural personality, Park Sung Hoon responded with a touch of humor, “Are you asking if my real personality is like that?” His witty comeback elicited laughter from the audience.

Despite the popularity of his works, Park Sung Hoon candidly admitted, “I am genuinely hated.” Viewers’ reactions ranged from “Get lost” to “Let’s settle this.” The actor even shared an amusing anecdote about receiving a playful smack on the back from an aunt at a restaurant.

In a fascinating contrast, Park Sung Hoon revealed that off-screen, he was quite different from the characters he portrayed.

“I was a scaredy-cat in real life,” he confessed. “I’m scared of ghost. I used to sleep with the lights on until I finished my military service.”

Addressing a rumor raised by Yoo Jae Suk, the actor clarified his background. Despite speculation that he hailed from a wealthy family, Park Sung Hoon disclosed his humble upbringing.

He recalled sitting on the stairs with friends during high school because they couldn’t afford to buy hamburgers.

Perhaps the most poignant revelation was that Park Sung Hoon lived in a basement reminiscent of the one depicted in the movie ‘Parasite’ for approximately seven years.

Even during an eight-month break after his military service, his mother’s words echoed in his mind: “If you don’t come back, it won’t be okay.”

Don’t miss Park Sung Hoon’s candid story on ‘You Quiz on the Block’, airing on May 1st at 8:45 PM. It’s a testament to resilience and the pursuit of dreams, even in the face of adversity1.
