YG says they are still talking with BLACKPINK about renewing contracts, and results will be announced soon

YG Entertainment (hereafter YG) has made an announcement regarding the re-contracting of BLACKPINK.

The decision on whether or not Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo will renew their contracts will be disclosed at a later date.

The quarterly report released by YG on November 14th stated that negotiations for a new exclusive contract with the artists are currently underway.

The final results of these negotiations will be revealed through subsequent disclosures of key management matters related to investment decisions.

This marks YG‘s official statement on the re-contracting negotiations with BLACKPINK which have been ongoing for approximately two months.

The group, which debuted in August 2016, has been engaged in these negotiations with YG since August of this year, as their seven-year exclusive contract is set to expire. Speculations have arisen within certain circles that three members of BLACKPINK (Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo) have decided not to renew their contracts with YG.

There have also been rumors suggesting that Jennie and Jisoo plan to establish their own one-person agencies. However, YG officially stated to Newsen on September 25th that no confirmed decision has been made regarding the re-contracting of BLACKPINK and their future activities. YG Entertainment not only represents BLACKPINK but also other notable artists such as AKMU, WINNER, SECHSKIES, JINU, TREASURE, BABY MONSTER, and various actors and actresses including Kim Hee-ae, Seo Jung-yeon, Son Na-eun, Yoo Seung-ho, Yoo In-na, Lee Sung-kyung, Lee Soo-hyuk, Lee Ho-jung, Jang Ki-yong, Jang Hyun-sung, Jung Hye-young, Cha Seung-won, Jin Kyung, Choi Ji-woo, Han Seung-yeon, and model Joo Woo-jae.
