“Leaving Korea for good” — F.T. Island’s Song Seung Hyun bids farewell to entertainment industry, plans for a fresh start

F.T. Island‘s Song Seung Hyun has officially announced his departure from the entertainment industry.

On February 15th, he took to his social media to share a heartfelt message, expressing his apologies to his fans who have been patiently waiting during his hiatus.

He revealed his future plans, stating, “After a lot of contemplation, I’ve decided to step away from the entertainment industry and possibly leave Korea to embark on a new journey.”

Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “It’s been 4 years since I parted ways with F.T. Island and ventured into acting. The challenges of adapting to a new profession and environment were tough, but the uncertainty of waiting and navigating interpersonal relationships were even more daunting.”

Song Seung Hyun expressed his determination to lead a healthier and more regular life, saying, “Regardless of what I do, there will always be challenges in work and relationships. However, I’m committed to leading a new life that I can manage on a daily basis.”

Song Seung Hyun has been showcasing his talents as a guitarist since F.T. Island‘s EP album ‘Jump Up‘ in 2009. He transitioned into acting after his exclusive contract with his agency ended in 2019.

His acting credits include web dramas ‘Investigator Alice Season 2’, ‘Oh! My Assistant’, and musicals ‘Jack the Ripper’ and ‘The Three Musketeers’.
