• Kim Min Seok and Jung Dong Hwan say MeloMance’s success made them fight and stop eating together

Fans had been wondering for a while if there was trouble between MeloMance members Kim Min Seok and Jung Dong Hwan—and now, the truth is out.

In a YouTube video uploaded on April 23 to Park Na Rae’s channel Naraesik, the two musicians sat down with their college friend Park Na Rae and opened up about their past fights. The video was titled “We even blocked each other… Turn off the camera”—and yes, it was just as real as it sounds.

Park Na Rae, who went to Seoul Institute of the Arts with the duo (class of 2010), asked, “Isn’t it hard to work and be close friends at the same time? Didn’t you ever think, ‘I can’t do this with this person anymore?’”

Kim Min Seok didn’t hold back. “We honestly didn’t get along. It’s funny to say, but the more successful we got, the worse our relationship became.”

Park Na Rae totally understood. “That happens. The more successful you get, the more sensitive people become, and you start clashing,” she said.

Kim Min Seok explained further, “When we started getting famous, I think both of us started thinking, ‘Do I deserve more attention or does he?’”

Park Na Rae added, “It’s really hard when one person feels like their work isn’t being seen.”

She asked about the time around their hit song “Gift” and the show Sugar Man, saying, “Weren’t you two really distant then?” Kim Min Seok agreed, saying, “During Sugar Man, Dong Hwan did his part, and I did mine. That’s it.”

Park Na Rae then revealed, “I noticed it. During rehearsals, your timing was off. You never came together. It looked like you were going in the same direction but never side by side.”

Kim Min Seok laughed and said, “Nowadays we joke around on stage, like pretending to be each other’s bodyguards. But back then, if the cue came at count 1, Dong Hwan would go out first suddenly. So next time, I’d go out first just to beat him.”

Park Na Rae laughed, calling it “so childish.” Jung Dong Hwan agreed and said, “Yeah, we had a lot of childish moments.”

Then Park Na Rae asked, “Did you even stop eating together?” Both members quickly replied, “Of course we didn’t eat together.” Jung Dong Hwan added, “At highway rest stops, we had no choice but to eat together… even then, we sat as far apart as we could.”

The biggest surprise? Jung Dong Hwan admitted, “This is kind of embarrassing… but I actually blocked him once.”

Park Na Rae couldn’t believe it and jokingly yelled, “Just drink already! Turn off the camera, everyone out!” to lighten the mood.

Jung Dong Hwan quickly said, “It wasn’t for long. I unblocked him later.”

Even with the ups and downs, fans are happy to see MeloMance being honest and real — and it looks like they’ve grown stronger because of it.

  • NCT Wish gets called out for their cold behavior on live broadcast — SHINee's Key tells them to do better

SM's rookie group NCT Wish stirred up controversy during a recent live radio broadcast due to their seemingly uninterested attitude.

On April 22, SBS PowerFM's "Escape from the Two O'Clock Cultwo Show" featured Chuu, who recently made her comeback, alongside NCT Wish members.

Chuu’s bright and energetic reactions kept the atmosphere lively, but the NCT Wish members’ contrasting behavior quickly caught attention.

Throughout the broadcast, many of the members kept their eyes on the floor, gave short answers, or spoke in a vague manner, showing little enthusiasm.

During a challenge on the show, only a few members seemed engaged, while the rest appeared almost completely unresponsive. This passive behavior didn’t go unnoticed by listeners.

Fans expressed disappointment, with some commenting, “Other small rookie groups can’t even get on this show, so it makes you think a lot,” “They don’t show any eagerness. I wish I could live this comfortably too,” and “Chuu, a senior, is working hard to react, but they should respond back.”

Others speculated that the group's sudden rise to fame may have made them lack sincerity, saying, “Maybe the popularity came too easily, and they lack sincerity. It seems like they didn’t start from the bottom, debuting with the name ‘NCT’ under a big company, which might be their mistake.”

In the middle of the broadcast, SHINee’s Key made a notable comment, saying, “I’m watching, so do well,” adding a bit of pressure on the young group.

However, some fans defended the group, pointing out that NCT Wish, which is still in its second year and includes foreign members, might just be lacking experience in broadcasting. They suggested that the members are still adjusting and that they will likely improve with time.

Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how NCT Wish grows and changes in the future!
