BTS's Jungkook is proving once again why he’s called the golden maknae. His first solo album GOLDEN, released in November 2023, is still making waves and breaking records all over the globe—even months after its release!
Recently, GOLDEN hit an amazing milestone by staying on Apple Music’s Worldwide Album chart for over 500 days in a row. This is the first time ever a K-pop solo artist’s album has done this—and it’s now the longest record too. The album even topped the chart for three straight days when it first dropped, showing massive support from fans around the world. It’s also close to spending 400 days straight on Apple Music’s Europe Album chart.
On Spotify, GOLDEN is shining just as bright. The album has been on the Weekly Top Albums Global chart for 92 weeks straight, making Jungkook the first and longest-charting Asian solo artist ever. He’s also the first Asian soloist to reach over 5.4 billion streams on Spotify. That’s a number even big Western artists dream about!
In the U.S., GOLDEN debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 25 weeks, making Jungkook the first K-pop soloist to hit that mark. Over in the UK, it stayed on the Official Top 100 Albums for 8 weeks, showing its power in major music markets.
iTunes? He’s got that too! GOLDEN topped the album charts in 106 countries and regions, proving that fans from all over the world are still loving his music.
Back in South Korea, Jungkook is winning at home too. As of April 10, his album has sold more than 2.96 million copies, according to the Circle Chart. That’s huge for any solo artist, let alone one in the middle of his global takeover.
From the streaming numbers to the emotional connection fans feel, GOLDEN is more than just an album—it’s a global moment. Fans are now wondering what records he’ll break next, and where his voice will take them in the future.
One thing is clear: Jungkook is just getting started, and GOLDEN is here to stay.
