Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon has opened up about her heartbreak after her solo concert in Japan was suddenly canceled.
On April 18, Taeyeon used the fan messaging app Bubble to talk to fans about what happened. She shared her honest feelings, saying, “I’m worried about Sowon (Girls’ Generation’s fan club). I feel so bad that I don’t even know what to say.”
She added, “I really hate this situation and I feel so sorry to Sowon. A concert that was made with so much effort and hope just disappeared in a moment. It feels like something was stolen. I feel empty and helpless, and I don’t know how to express these emotions.”
Taeyeon was supposed to perform in Japan on April 19 and 20 for her solo tour “The TENSE in JAPAN.”
However, on April 17, her agency SM Entertainment announced through her official Japanese site that the concerts had to be canceled. The reason? The equipment needed for the show didn’t make it to Japan on time.
SM Entertainment said, “We are currently transporting equipment used in the Asia tour to Japan, but it hasn’t arrived yet. It is very difficult to prepare properly for the concert under these conditions.”
They also shared, “We talked with everyone involved and tried to find a way to make it work, but in the end, we had no choice but to cancel. We deeply apologize to everyone who was waiting for the concert.”
SM added they are looking into the possibility of new dates for replacement shows. Taeyeon started her Asia tour on March 7–9 in Seoul. She already performed in Manila on March 29 and in Jakarta on April 12, receiving lots of love from fans.
Fans are now waiting to see if the canceled Japan shows will be rescheduled soon.
