• SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi opens up about the time he was upset over his stage name "Hoshi"

Hoshi from SEVENTEEN revealed he was once disappointed with his stage name and even found it strange at first.

On April 15, Hoshi and Woozi appeared as guests on the web variety show "Salon Drip 2." During the episode, Woozi shared the story behind his stage name, explaining that it’s a shortened version of "Our Ji Hoon," which surprised many fans.

When Jang Do Yeon playfully asked, “How cute were you to get that name?”.

Woozi laughed and said, “I’m 30 now, but I started as a trainee when I was 15. The older people back then called me ‘Our Ji Hoon’ because I was so young, almost like a nickname.”

But it was Hoshi’s turn to share a funny story. He explained, “When we joined, S.Coups hyung came in first, Woozi came in second, and I was third. I was also the youngest, so why am I called ‘Hoshi’?” He admitted he was a bit upset about it at the time.

Hoshi continued, “When I was younger, I didn’t like the name ‘Hoshi.’ Doesn’t ‘Hoshi-ssi’ sound weird? When we were trainees, they told us, ‘From now on, use your stage names,’ and they put it on the wall in the company."

He added, "When the seniors from After School passed by, they said, ‘What’s Hoshi?’ ‘Hoshi-ssi is weird.’ I was upset, but once I debuted, I started to grow fond of it.”

Despite his initial feelings, Hoshi now seems to be proud of his stage name, and the fans love it too, often calling him by it with affection.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN's special unit Hoshi X Woozi released their first single album, "BEAM," on March 10, which fans are absolutely loving!
