• Ailee cries while defending her fiancé Choi Si Hoon from people calling him "unemployed"

Singer Ailee couldn’t hold back her tears while opening up about her fiancé Choi Si Hoon and the pain he’s been going through.

On the April 15 episode of tvN STORY’s Kim Chang Ok Show 3, Ailee appeared with Choi Si Hoon, her soon-to-be husband.

As the couple prepares for their upcoming marriage, Ailee revealed the emotional struggles they've been facing because of false rumors and online hate.

Ailee said with a heavy heart, “This might be something we’ll have to live with for the rest of our lives, but since my husband is constantly in the spotlight, people keep comparing us or making up stories. These false rumors really hurt him.”

She explained that people often call Choi Si Hoon “unemployed”, even though he’s working hard behind the scenes.

She added, “He doesn’t just work as an influencer — he also works at a company. But people think I’m the only one earning money and that I buy everything with my own money. When they keep writing those kinds of negative comments, it really upsets him. And seeing that hurts me, too. I feel so helpless because there’s nothing I can do.”

Choi Si Hoon also shared how these harsh comments affected him, especially after his appearance on the dating show “Single’s Inferno”.

He said, “After the show, a lot of rumors started. It felt like all the work I’ve done in life was being erased. It was so hard. I didn’t want to be active anymore. I even wished people didn’t know who I was. But then I met my wife, and people started noticing me again. I’m doing my best to live a good life, so those comments really hurt.”

Ailee added that Choi Si Hoon is actually very responsible, “I don’t even let him spend money — he takes care of everything. The reality is so different from the hate comments.”

Choi Si Hoon quietly added that when he sees hate online, “I just sit quietly in the car or room, without any expression.”

Finally, Ailee, fighting back tears, said something that touched everyone, “If he hadn’t met me, he could’ve lived more comfortably without worrying about others. I feel so sorry. But even so, he chose me, and I’m really thankful.”

Fans are showing support for the couple, praising their honesty and strength.
