Fans around the world are remembering SHINee’s late member Jonghyun on what would’ve been his 36th birthday, showing that his memory still lives on in the hearts of many.
On April 8, SM Entertainment posted a touching tribute on SHINee’s official account with the caption, “04.08 #JONGHYUN #JongHyun #SHINee #SHINee,” along with a photo of Jonghyun smiling brightly on stage. This yearly post from SM has become a tradition to honor his birthday.
Minho also shared his feelings on his personal account, writing, “Happy birthday. I always miss you,” along with a photo of himself with Jonghyun during their younger days, bringing a wave of emotion to fans.

Jonghyun made his debut with SHINee in 2008, giving fans unforgettable hits like Replay (Noona You’re So Pretty), Lucifer, and Ring Ding Dong. He was not only a powerful vocalist but also a talented songwriter, solo artist, and radio DJ who left a deep impact on K-pop.
Tragically, Jonghyun passed away in December 2017 at the young age of 27, leaving behind a legacy that still touches many today.
Key once opened up about the pain of losing him on You Quiz on the Block, saying:
“After Jonghyun passed, I was really shaken. I kept wondering what life is for and if I should just quit everything. But we chose to face it together and stood on the Tokyo Dome stage. That’s how we said goodbye to his short but brilliant youth.
On his birthday and the day he left, I miss him even more. When we record new songs, I always think, ‘He would’ve done so well with this.’ It still feels like he’s with us. SHINee is always five.”
Fans continue to show their love with heartfelt messages, fan art, and memories of Jonghyun, proving that while he may be gone, he is never forgotten. ??
