Kim Hye Yoon is ready to surprise fans by switching from cute romance roles to something totally different—a chilling horror movie!
On April 8, it was reported that the actress has confirmed her role in the upcoming film Salmokji (working title), directed by Lee Sang Min. This will be her big-screen comeback after nearly three years since her last movie Ditto (2022), and fans are already excited to see what she’ll bring this time.
Salmokji is said to be a horror film set around a real-life reservoir with the same name. The area is already known for creepy urban legends, and the film will mix those eerie stories with a brand-new horror plot.

With its familiar setting and scary mystery, many are expecting this movie to show the true power of K-horror.
Kim Hye Yoon will play the lead role in the film. She’s already proven her acting talent in movies like The Girl on a Bulldozer, and this time, fans are eager to see how she’ll handle the horror genre.
After becoming super popular last year as the “rom-com queen” thanks to the hit drama Lovely Runner , many are wondering—could she become the next “horror queen”?
And she’s not slowing down anytime soon. Kim Hye Yoon has already picked her next drama Although I Am Human Starting Today, which will air on SBS later this year. Now, she’s adding a horror film to her schedule, showing just how versatile she is as an actress.
Salmokji will be produced by The Lamp, the company behind major films like A Taxi Driver, Samjin Company English Class, and Escape. It will be distributed by Showbox, and filming is set to begin sometime this year.
Fans can’t wait to see Kim Hye Yoon in this new, darker role.
