• Kim Soo Hyun fights back—says KakaoTalk messages were faked, has proof to prove his innocence

Kim Soo Hyun has strongly denied claims that he exchanged KakaoTalk messages with the late Kim Sae Ron in 2016 and 2018, saying the messages were manipulated.

On March 31, Kim Soo Hyun held an urgent press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. He stated, “The bereaved family is framing me as a pedophile and a groomer of minors using KakaoTalk messages. The person in the 2016 and 2018 messages is not me.”

To back up his claim, Kim Soo Hyun revealed the results of an authorship identification analysis. He explained, “I submitted the 2016 and 2018 messages provided by the family, along with my recent KakaoTalk conversations with acquaintances, to a forensic verification agency. The agency concluded that the person in the 2016 and 2018 messages is not the same.”

Kim Soo Hyun also expressed his frustration over how new claims kept surfacing. “Whenever I or my agency refute their so-called evidence, suddenly, new recorded testimonies appear. They present manipulated photos and videos with altered timestamps, as well as edited KakaoTalk images instead of the originals.”

He then challenged the family to submit their evidence for legal verification. “If their evidence is real, they should let the authorities verify it. I have people who rely on me, and I see them suffering every day. I fear what new accusations will come next, how they will twist things to make me look like a criminal.”

Kim Soo Hyun ended his statement by promising to reveal the truth. “I will take responsibility for my own choices, but I won’t stay silent about false accusations. I don’t ask for blind trust—I will prove my innocence.”
