The family of the late Sulli (Choi Jin Ri) has spoken up, demanding statements from actor Kim Soo Hyun and director Lee Sa Rang (also known as Lirobe), who worked with Sulli in the film Real.
On March 28, Sulli’s older brother, referred to as A, released a statement expressing his family’s lingering pain. “For the past six years, we have lived through deep sorrow and tears, but we are also grateful for the support and consideration of many people.”
He also mentioned the recent tragic passing of Kim Sae Ron, saying, “We could not ignore the passing of the late Kim Sae Ron as if it were someone else’s concern. We express our deepest condolences to Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family.”
However, A didn’t stop there. He directly called out Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Sa Rang, urging them to clarify their positions on some shocking allegations.
According to A, testimonies from staff and actors at Sulli’s funeral revealed that the controversial bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo Hyun in Real was not originally detailed in the script. He demanded Kim Soo Hyun’s response regarding this claim.
He also raised concerns about why a body double, who was allegedly on set, was not used for Sulli’s nude scenes. He questioned why Sulli was reportedly persuaded into filming them herself instead. A further claimed that it was said the body double was unable to come due to illness, but testimonies from those present at the funeral suggested otherwise.
A firmly stated, “There were many things I heard at Sulli’s funeral, but I am only asking three fact-based questions. Please respond actively.”
Additionally, A revealed that he sent a letter to the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, asking for the truth to be revealed to Kim Sae Ron’s family and for a sincere apology. He also expressed frustration toward YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who allegedly dismissed these concerns and attacked the grieving families.
A also showed his willingness to meet with Kim Sae Ron’s family to share in their sorrow, saying he is ready to be there for them at any time.
Kwon Young Chan, the head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, commented, “Although it is late, we once again sincerely mourn for Sulli’s bereaved family,” and added, “We hope that the bereaved family of Kim Sae Ron will no longer be subjected to malicious comments and further distress.”
Meanwhile, A has continued to target Kim Soo Hyun on social media. In a recent post, he wrote, “Six years since I lost my sister, six years since you played with her, six years of suffering ahead for you—please don’t break too quickly.”
As the controversy grows, all eyes are now on Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Sa Rang to see how they will respond to these serious allegations.
