BLACKPINK’s Jennie has once again shown her global influence—this time, by boosting a snack brand’s stock price just by mentioning her favorite treat!
On March 10 (local time), Jennie appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show to promote her first solo album RUBY. During the show, she casually introduced her favorite Korean snacks, including Nongshim’s Banana Kick, Shrimp Crackers, and Whale Rice Crackers.
But it was her love for Banana Kick that really made waves.

Jennie shared, “It’s been my favorite snack since I was little,” and described it as “a banana-flavored snack, but with a surprisingly unique taste.”
Her comment instantly went viral on social media, making Banana Kick a trending topic worldwide.
The impact was immediate—over the next four days, Nongshim’s stock price surged, adding 264 billion KRW (approximately $200 million USD) to the company’s market value.
Nongshim quickly joined in on the fun, posting a playful update on social media. The post featured cartoon versions of Banana Kick and Shrimp Crackers, with Banana Kick proudly saying, “Thanks to Jennie, I got a solo shot for five whole seconds!”
Fans loved the interaction, making the snack’s popularity skyrocket even more.
Meanwhile, Jennie is breaking records with RUBY. She recently became the highest-ranking K-pop female solo artist on Apple Music’s Top Albums chart in the U.S., reaching No. 9.
Her title track also debuted at No. 12 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart before climbing to No. 7, proving her unstoppable power in the music industry.
In addition to RUBY, all of Jennie’s tracks—including the pre-released Handlebars (feat. Dua Lipa), ExtraL (feat. Doechii), and Love Hangover (feat. Dominic Fike)—are receiving lots of love, securing high spots on major music charts.
Jennie’s power is truly unmatched—from topping charts to making snack stocks soar, there’s nothing she can’t do!
