EVERGLOW’s Yiren recently made a shocking confession, revealing that she has never received any earnings since debut, leaving fans worried about the group’s future.
On a fan communication platform, Yiren opened up about the harsh reality of being in a girl group, despite being six years into her career. She wrote, “I really love performing on stage, but I have no income at all.”
She continued, “Even so, I don’t want to give up this career. The reality is, we have never received any earnings yet.”
Yiren explained that the group works extremely hard to prepare for their tour performances because they truly want to give fans the best stages. However, she also admitted, “I always feel sorry that we can’t show you more new songs and performances.”
She then dropped a bombshell, saying, “Since debut, I’ve never been paid—not even once. I’m basically a worker with a zero-won salary.” But despite the situation, she reassured fans, “But it’s okay. At least I can still meet our fans (FOREVER) and have opportunities to perform on stage, so I’m fine with it.”
Fans were shocked to hear that EVERGLOW, a group in their sixth year, has yet to receive any earnings. Many are now concerned that the group might disband.
EVERGLOW, a six-member multinational girl group under Yuehua Entertainment Korea, debuted on March 21, 2019, with members E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren. They have released several hit songs, including ZOMBIE, SLAY, Pirate, FIRST, and DUN DUN.
In 2023, EVERGLOW wrapped up their U.S. tour, 2023 EVERGLOW US TOUR - ALL MY GIRLS, and made a comeback in June with their fifth single album ZOMBIE, their first release in ten months.
Yiren first gained attention when she appeared on Mnet’s survival show Produce 48, along with fellow member Sihyeon. Now, with her shocking revelation, fans are left wondering what will happen next for EVERGLOW.
