BLACKPINK’s Jennie has officially wrapped up her first solo concert, The Ruby Experience, but not everyone was thrilled. Fans expected a stage masterpiece from someone known as a "stage master," but instead, they were met with a simple setup, minimal production, and a short performance that left many disappointed.
Jennie’s concert took place on March 15 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, marking the finale of her tour after performances in Los Angeles and New York. However, before the show even started, chaos erupted when celebrities like NewJeans and WINNER were spotted in the audience. Fans rushed to take photos, leading to loud screams and a 10-minute delay.
Once the concert finally began, the stage was set with Intro: JANE with FKJ. A dancer moved like a marionette before dragging a mirror to the center, where Jennie appeared in a dramatic fur coat, sending fans into a frenzy. She kicked off the setlist with Start a War, followed by Handlebars (feat. Dua Lipa), Mantra, Love Hangover (feat. Dominic Fike), ZEN, and Damn Right (feat. Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis)—performing one after another without stopping.

While Jennie’s live vocals and song rearrangements brought fresh energy to the show, the overall stage production left much to be desired. There were no extravagant effects, no elaborate set designs—just a plain stage with small graphics on the screen. Even the screen itself was smaller than what fans are used to at major concerts.
Many expected breathtaking visuals, wire stunts, or dramatic set changes, but instead, Jennie was accompanied only by her dancers and the LED backdrop. With tickets priced over 100,000 KRW, some fans felt the experience wasn’t worth the money.
Adding to the disappointment, Jennie didn’t interact with the audience until 40 minutes into the show due to the initial delay. When she finally addressed the crowd, she admitted, "I must look really out of breath, right? The last three songs got me so excited. Since this is my first solo concert, please understand if I seem a little clumsy."

She continued, "I feel shy standing here, but seeing you all in person makes everything feel real. I had so much to say while preparing this album and concert. Instead of showing a perfect, glamorous side, I wanted to present an honest and slightly clumsy version of myself."
As the concert neared its end, Jennie performed Filter before disappearing behind the screen.
Fans, hoping for a longer set, chanted for an encore. She returned, seated at a piano, and performed Starlight and Twin as her final songs.

The entire concert lasted only 1 hour and 10 minutes—much shorter than what fans had expected. Even after the lights came on, many remained in their seats, hoping for another encore.
Jennie is known for her strong stage presence, but this concert has sparked debate among fans.
Did the stripped-down production showcase her artistry, or did it fail to deliver the grand performance expected from a BLACKPINK member’s solo show? Let us know what you think!
