• Kim Soo Hyun to Skip "Good Day" Filming — Will He Be Edited Out Completely?

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is officially skipping filming for MBC’s variety show Good Day on March 13, and many are now wondering—is he being removed from the show for good?

On March 12, Maeil Business Newspaper reported that Good Day will continue filming as scheduled on March 13—but Kim Soo Hyun will NOT be there.

Although he already filmed his segments on February 27, discussions are now underway on whether to edit out his footage completely. With the controversy surrounding his alleged relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron, it seems like the show may be cutting ties with him.

Not only does this impact the final broadcast, but even the soundtrack featuring Kim Soo Hyun may need changes. Many believe that after growing backlash, it will be difficult for him to continue appearing on major TV networks.

Good Day is a high-profile music variety show featuring G-Dragon, where he collaborates with various figures to create the song of the year. The program marks PD Kim Tae Ho’s return to MBC and G-Dragon’s first regular variety show in years.

Kim Soo Hyun played a major role in forming the "88z" crew, which includes:
    Hwang Kwang Hee
    Lee Soo Hyuk
    Jung Hae In
    Im Si Wan
    G-Dragon

Because of his close ties to the members, he was one of the key cast members. However, with the growing controversy over his personal life with Kim Sae Ron, public sentiment has turned against him, and calls for his removal have intensified.

Previously, YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon) claimed that:
Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a romantic relationship for 6 years
They allegedly started dating in 2015, when Kim Sae Ron was 15 years old (still a minor)
Kim Soo Hyun was 27 at the time—a 12-year age gap
He allegedly pressured her along with YouTuber Lee Jin Ho
His agency’s response to the accusations was unreasonable

Later, Gaseyeon released more “evidence”, including:
Photos of the two showing physical affection
Messages reportedly sent by Kim Sae Ron to Kim Soo Hyun
A handwritten letter allegedly written by Kim Soo Hyun during his military service, sent to Kim Sae Ron

Despite the controversy, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, is fighting back. They released a strong statement, saying:

"Many of the claims made against our company and Kim Soo Hyun are malicious."

    They also warned:

"We are reviewing the strongest possible legal action against these baseless rumors, as we cannot let them go unchallenged."

Even after Gaseyeon dropped more allegations and evidence, Gold Medalist refused to change its stance, saying:

    "Our official position remains unchanged."

With brands dropping him, his ads being removed, and now his future on Good Day uncertain, many are wondering—is this the end of his career?

  • Seo Ye Ji shocks fans with controversial jokes about her scandals on 'SNL Korea' after 8 years away from variety shows but fans are not buying it

Seo Ye Ji is facing major backlash after her surprising appearance on SNL Korea 7.

On April 12, Seo Ye Ji made her long-awaited return to variety shows by guest-starring on Coupang Play's SNL Korea Season 7.

Before the show started, she made jaws drop by joking, "I'll gaslight the SNL crew and make it fun," referencing her own past controversies.

During the "Seo Ye GPT" segment, Seo Ye Ji played an AI that helped Kim Won Hoon nail a company presentation. She then made a sharp comment, saying, "The truly embarrassing thing is sitting quietly and being talked about behind your back. I've experienced that a lot," hinting at the criticism she’s faced.

In the "Eve Hair Salon" skit, Seo Ye Ji acted as a salon director and joked about her past "Kim Ddak Ddak" scandal, where she was accused of controlling her then-boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun. When a character mentioned her stiff neck, she responded, "It's firm," making everyone laugh but also stirring mixed feelings.

Fans were shocked to see Seo Ye Ji using her past scandals as comedy material, especially since it’s been eight years since her last variety show appearance. Many pointed out that joking about serious accusations like gaslighting and academic fraud might have gone too far.

The controversy over Seo Ye Ji’s education also came back into the spotlight. She had previously claimed she studied abroad in Spain, but in 2021 it was revealed she never actually attended the university she mentioned.

Her agency explained she was accepted but didn’t attend because of her career in Korea, but many netizens weren’t convinced.

On SNL Korea, Seo Ye Ji even played a character who lied about her past to impress a boyfriend, making fans think of her real-life academic background scandal.

After the episode aired, reactions online exploded. Some comments included, "Falsifying academic background is a crime," "This was too much," "It was funny though," "Let’s forgive it since it’s black comedy," and "Why was Seo Ye Ji the first guest?"

Seo Ye Ji’s bold jokes have definitely split public opinion, with some calling it brave and others saying it only reopened old wounds.
