• Jennie’s Bold Stage Outfits at ‘The Ruby Experience’ Leave Fans Divided — Sexy or Too Much?

Jennie has officially entered her Ruby era, but her latest stage outfits have fans debating whether she’s taking things too far.

At exactly midnight on March 7, Jennie dropped her highly anticipated debut album Ruby, marking her first solo project since leaving YG Entertainment and launching her own company, ODD ATELIER.

To celebrate, she kicked off her solo tour, The Ruby Experience, in Los Angeles, where she performed songs from the album for the first time and shared behind-the-scenes stories about its creation.

As expected, Jennie stunned fans with her captivating stage presence and bold fashion.

However, two of her outfits quickly became the center of controversy, sparking heated discussions online.

For performances of songs like Damn Right, ZEN, and Seoul City, Jennie wore a daring cut-out crop top paired with layered, high-slit shorts that revealed her undergarments. While Jennie is known for her trendsetting fashion, some fans felt that this outfit was overly provocative.

Critics argued that the combination of revealing cut-outs and visible undergarments made the look appear too excessive, with some saying it didn’t match the refined yet sultry style she was known for during her BLACKPINK days. Others defended Jennie, saying she was simply embracing her own artistic vision and breaking away from traditional K-pop expectations.

Another outfit that raised eyebrows was her stage look for Filter, where Jennie wore a form-fitting white jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. The outfit highlighted her slim figure, but due to the thin fabric and bright stage lights, her black undergarments were clearly visible.

Fans were divided—some praised Jennie’s confidence and fearless fashion choices, while others felt the outfit was too risky, especially since it created unflattering creases and potential wardrobe malfunctions as she moved.

Some netizens even questioned if her stylists were deliberately pushing the boundaries of sexy fashion, blurring the line between bold and inappropriate.

This isn’t the first time a K-pop idol has faced backlash over revealing stage outfits. BLACKPINK’s Lisa also came under fire in 2024 for wearing short outfits during her solo fan meetings. While Western audiences tend to be more accepting of bold fashion, Jennie’s latest looks have still sparked controversy.

Despite the mixed reactions, Jennie remains unapologetic about her style. With The Ruby Experience just getting started, fans are now wondering—will her next looks continue to push the envelope, or will she tone it down?
