• EXO’s Baekhyun Sold Over 1 Million Albums But Couldn’t Attend Year-End Award Shows — Was He Blocked by SM Entertainment?

EXO’s Baekhyun proved his unstoppable popularity by selling over 1 million copies of his latest solo album, but fans were left confused when he didn’t attend a single year-end award show.

Now, speculation is growing—was Baekhyun another victim of SM Entertainment’s alleged power abuse?

Baekhyun dropped his fourth solo mini-album, Hello, World, in April 2023, and within just five days, he achieved an impressive milestone—over 1 million copies sold.

This made him a triple million-seller, proving once again that he’s one of the top solo artists in K-Pop.

Naturally, fans expected Baekhyun to attend year-end music award shows to celebrate his achievements and put on stunning performances.

After all, he had previously expressed his excitement, saying, "I must go to the year-end award shows!" and "Even if I don’t receive an award, I’ll still go. I want to put on a great performance."

However, as the year came to an end, Baekhyun was nowhere to be seen at any of the major music award ceremonies—leaving fans both disappointed and suspicious.

On March 7, an industry insider spoke out about the situation, revealing, "Baekhyun really wanted to attend the year-end award shows," but also added, "He couldn’t go to any of them."

This statement has fueled concerns that Baekhyun may have been blocked from appearing, possibly due to SM Entertainment’s alleged influence over broadcast stations.

This situation is even more questionable considering that Baekhyun’s fellow EXO member, Xiumin, also faced similar struggles.

On March 4, while promoting his solo album, Xiumin revealed the shocking truth about his attempts to perform on music shows.

He stated, "I tried multiple times to arrange meetings with broadcasting stations so that I could perform on music shows for my fans, but KBS did not even respond to our attempts to contact them."

He went on to add, "Recently, KBS unofficially informed us that it would be impossible for me to appear on shows like KBS2’s Music Bank if SM Entertainment artists were also scheduled to perform."

This revelation immediately sparked accusations of power abuse, as many believe SM Entertainment is deliberately restricting broadcast appearances for artists who have left the company.

With Baekhyun and Xiumin both facing difficulties in appearing on music-related broadcasts, fans are demanding transparency and answers.

Many believe that Baekhyun’s absence from award shows was not just a coincidence but a result of industry politics.

As discussions continue, fans are calling for fairness, hoping that Baekhyun and other artists will no longer be affected by alleged power plays in the industry.

  • Kim Soo Hyun Faces Calls to Step Down from "Good Day" Amid Growing Controversy: "G-Dragon’s Show Is Supposed to Be Fun"

Kim Soo Hyun’s recent controversy is now affecting his appearance on MBC’s Good Day, with some viewers demanding that he leave the show.

On March 12, a post titled "ㄱㅅㅎ should step down" appeared on the viewer feedback section of Good Day, sparking discussion online.

The post’s author wrote, "G-Dragon’s show is supposed to be for fun, so what’s this controversy with ㄱㅅㅎ? He should voluntarily step down," directly calling for Kim Soo Hyun’s removal from the program.

Good Day is a music project variety show led by G-Dragon, where he collaborates with well-known figures from different fields to create a song representing the year. Kim Soo Hyun, who shares the same birth year as G-Dragon, was added to the show as part of the ’88 line, winning fans over with his friendly and lighthearted image.

However, things took a turn when Kim Soo Hyun became embroiled in controversy regarding allegations of a past romantic relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor. While his agency strongly denied the claims, calling them "false information," additional photos showing affectionate moments between the two—such as a cheek kiss—along with text messages sent by Kim Sae Ron, have only fueled the public’s doubts.

Although the viewer feedback post did not mention his full name, Kim Soo Hyun is the only cast member whose initials match "ㄱㅅㅎ," making it clear that the post was referring to him.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is also set to star in Disney+’s upcoming drama Knock-Off, with the first season scheduled to be released soon. However, with his controversy continuing to spread, even Knock-Off is facing growing concerns.
