BLACKPINK’s Lisa is proving her global influence once again—this time, by boosting tourism in her home country, Thailand!
According to Thai media outlets Nation and Khaosod on February 24, the Thai government has officially acknowledged Lisa’s impact on the country’s tourism industry. Deputy government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek shared that interest in Thailand has surged following Lisa’s appearance in the hit U.S. HBO drama The White Lotus.
One of the drama’s filming locations, Koh Samui, has seen a 65% increase in searches from American tourists compared to the previous month. But that’s not all—searches for hotels on Agoda jumped by 12%, while luxury hotel bookings skyrocketed by 40%!

Other famous destinations like Bangkok and Phuket have also seen a huge boom in hotel reservations, with some luxury stays reporting a 400–500% increase in bookings compared to last year.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand acknowledged Lisa’s powerful influence, stating, “The White Lotus is attracting Western tourists, and Lisa’s appearance is pulling in Southeast Asian fans too, creating a massive dual effect.”
As a proud Thai superstar and a member of BLACKPINK, Lisa’s impact reaches far beyond music—even helping drive her home country’s economy! With The White Lotus gaining worldwide attention, it looks like Thailand is about to experience one of its biggest tourism booms ever—all thanks to Lisa.
