• Seo Kang Joon Returns as a High School Student in "Undercover High School", His First Drama Since Military Service Starts Strong with High Ratings

Seo Kang Joon is finally back, and his new drama Undercover High School is already making waves! This marks his first project since completing his military service, and fans are loving his action-packed return.

The first episode of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Undercover High School aired on the 21st at 9:50 PM, and it didn’t disappoint! The show follows Jung Hae Sung (played by Seo Kang Joon), an elite National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who goes undercover as a student.

According to Nielsen Korea, the drama kicked off with solid ratings, hitting 5.6% nationwide and 5.8% in the metropolitan area. One particular scene—where Hae Sung discovers an old school building’s suspicious electricity meter—peaked at 6.4%, proving just how much viewers were hooked!

The episode started with an intense action sequence, where Hae Sung and his team went after criminals smuggling a valuable artifact called Bangasayusang. He fearlessly chased down the villain, Park Sang (played by Kim Do Yoon), recovering the artifact in an impressive display of action skills. But things quickly took a turn—one stray bullet accidentally damaged the statue, putting Hae Sung’s career in danger.

To redeem himself, he was given a new mission: to find hidden gold bars left behind by the founder of Byeongmoon High School. And to do that? He had to go undercover as a high school student!

Of course, this led to some hilarious moments, especially with Oh Soo Ah (played by Jin Ki Joo). Their first encounter was straight out of a drama—Hae Sung heroically saved her from a troublesome drunk customer at her mother’s shop, making her heart flutter.

But the romantic vibes were short-lived when she later saw him transferring into her school! Things got even funnier when he casually referred to her informally, leaving her completely speechless. Their playful banter set the stage for an exciting love-hate relationship.

But the mission was just getting started. Hae Sung noticed something strange about an abandoned school building—the electricity meter was running, even though the place was supposed to be empty. His instincts kicked in, and he decided to investigate.

Then came the big cliffhanger! As he sneaked into the old building at night, trying to uncover the truth, he was suddenly held at gunpoint. The shocking moment left viewers on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting to see how he would escape!

With its mix of thrilling action, comedy, and Seo Kang Joon’s undeniable charisma, Undercover High School had a strong start. Jin Ki Joo’s solid acting and the sharp directing from Choi Jung In also played a huge role in making the episode even more exciting.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more! Episode 2 of Undercover High School airs on the 22nd at 9:50 PM—don’t miss it.
