• "Squid Game 2" rising star Won Ji An talks about working with T.O.P

Actress Won Ji An opened up about her role in Squid Game 2 and what it was like working alongside former BIGBANG member T.O.P!

On February 21, Harper’s Bazaar Korea unveiled a stunning photoshoot of Won Ji An for its March issue. The pictorial captured her natural beauty, showing off her effortlessly pure and chic visuals.

In the interview, Won Ji An shared her thoughts on Squid Game 2, where she plays the role of Semi, a member of Thanos’ (T.O.P) team. Even though her screen time isn’t long, she was surprised by the attention her character and Thanos’ team have received.

“I’m fascinated and grateful that people are interested in Semi and Thanos’ group,” she shared. “Semi isn’t someone who only thinks about herself, and that drew me to her. The hardest part was figuring out her relationship with Minsu (played by Lee David). I kept wondering—does she see him as a younger brother or a friend? How does she relate to him? I explored those questions while acting.”

When asked how she manages to pull off such cool and indifferent expressions, she laughed and said, “I don’t need to prepare anything special. Just watching No Jae Won sunbae (senior actor) perform makes me react that way naturally. Isn’t Namkyu (his character) just so irritating?”

Between projects, Won Ji An has picked up a surprising new hobby—playing the electric guitar!

“I started learning last year, but I’m still a beginner,” she admitted. “Once I like something, I stick with it, so I plan to keep practicing. My goal is to get good enough to create music with my close friends and play freely.”

She’s also gearing up for her next big role in Made in Korea, a drama directed by Inside Men director Woo Min Ho. She will take on the role of a lobbyist named Choi Yoo Ji, marking a major transformation in her acting career.

“I’ve been studying Japanese diligently for the role,” she revealed. “The chance to work in a different language really excited me. The director told me he had me in mind for this role, so I’m doing my best to prepare.”

With Squid Game 2 and Made in Korea on the way, fans can’t wait to see Won Ji An’s next moves.

  • Sunmi’s NFT Project Raised Billions, Then Crashed—Now Angry Investors Want Answers

Sunmi is caught up in controversy after the NFT project she promoted made billions of KRW—only to lose most of its value, leaving investors frustrated.

According to Kyunghyang Shinmun on February 21, Sunmi, her agency, and a KOSDAQ-listed company launched the NFT collection Sunmiya Club in February 2022.

The project used blockchain technology to verify ownership of digital assets, turning illustrations inspired by Sunmi’s career into NFTs. Buyers were promised exclusive services to increase their investment value.

Thanks to Sunmi’s strong promotion, the NFTs were a huge success at first, selling out and making billions of KRW.

However, things took a turn when the NFT market crashed due to the Terra-Luna crisis and the bankruptcy of the U.S. crypto exchange FTX in late 2022.

By 2023, Sunmiya Club had stalled, and the once high-value NFTs dropped to just tens of thousands of KRW.

As investors faced major losses, some turned their frustration toward Sunmi. In response, the company behind the project stated, “We have fully followed the roadmap announced at the beginning and have continued operations.

The funds raised from the NFTs were used for operational costs and investments in a new platform launched last year.”

Despite the company’s defense, many are still questioning what went wrong and whether Sunmi will address the backlash.
