• Seo Kang Joon Says He Feels Bad Charging Fans for His Singing and Dancing—The Unexpected Reason He Quit Fan Meetings

Seo Kang Joon has opened up about why he no longer holds fan meetings!

On February 17, the YouTube channel Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong Yup featured Seo Kang Joon, Yoon Ga Yi, and Jo Bok Rae as guests. The actors are starring in MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Undercover High School.

During the show, Jo Bok Rae revealed, "Seo Kang Joon made a promise. If the drama surpasses 12% in ratings, the entire cast will go on an overseas trip together."

Since Undercover High School marks Seo Kang Joon’s first project after his military discharge, he confidently stated, "I don’t think spending money on an overseas trip would feel like a waste."

Host Shin Dong Yup then shared an interesting story: "One of my hairstyling staff, who worked with Seo Kang Joon, said he’s a rare case. Even though he became popular at a young age, he didn’t follow the mainstream commercial route but stuck to his own philosophy."

Seo Kang Joon responded, "People often tell me to choose projects that will make me more loved. While I get where they’re coming from, my heart just doesn’t naturally lean toward those kinds of roles."

He explained, "At the very least, when I’m asked at a press conference why I chose a project, I want to be able to say, ‘I wanted to tell this story.’ That’s the kind of work I want to do."

When the topic of fan meetings came up, Seo Kang Joon shared his honest thoughts, saying, "I used to do a lot of fan meetings, and meeting fans is really precious to me. But I’m not good at singing or dancing, so I started wondering, ‘Is this really worth people paying to see?’"

He continued, "I thought, ‘Can I really sell tickets while performing like this?’ That’s why I decided to stop doing fan meetings."

Meanwhile, Undercover High School, which follows an NIS agent disguising himself as a high school student, is set to premiere soon!

  • NCT Wish gets called out for their cold behavior on live broadcast — SHINee's Key tells them to do better

SM's rookie group NCT Wish stirred up controversy during a recent live radio broadcast due to their seemingly uninterested attitude.

On April 22, SBS PowerFM's "Escape from the Two O'Clock Cultwo Show" featured Chuu, who recently made her comeback, alongside NCT Wish members.

Chuu’s bright and energetic reactions kept the atmosphere lively, but the NCT Wish members’ contrasting behavior quickly caught attention.

Throughout the broadcast, many of the members kept their eyes on the floor, gave short answers, or spoke in a vague manner, showing little enthusiasm.

During a challenge on the show, only a few members seemed engaged, while the rest appeared almost completely unresponsive. This passive behavior didn’t go unnoticed by listeners.

Fans expressed disappointment, with some commenting, “Other small rookie groups can’t even get on this show, so it makes you think a lot,” “They don’t show any eagerness. I wish I could live this comfortably too,” and “Chuu, a senior, is working hard to react, but they should respond back.”

Others speculated that the group's sudden rise to fame may have made them lack sincerity, saying, “Maybe the popularity came too easily, and they lack sincerity. It seems like they didn’t start from the bottom, debuting with the name ‘NCT’ under a big company, which might be their mistake.”

In the middle of the broadcast, SHINee’s Key made a notable comment, saying, “I’m watching, so do well,” adding a bit of pressure on the young group.

However, some fans defended the group, pointing out that NCT Wish, which is still in its second year and includes foreign members, might just be lacking experience in broadcasting. They suggested that the members are still adjusting and that they will likely improve with time.

Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how NCT Wish grows and changes in the future!
