Actor Kwon Sang Woo recently shared a surprising past experience where he suffered from a parasite infection after eating too much raw liver and tripe!
On February 3, Kwon Sang Woo appeared on actor Park Kwang Jae’s YouTube channel Kwang Jae Unnie. While enjoying grilled intestines at a famous restaurant, the actor casually mentioned, “When you go to a place like this, they serve raw liver and tripe, and I really love eating them.”
However, he then shocked everyone by recalling a scary moment from 2010 while filming the drama Daemul. “Back then, I was shooting Daemul with Go Hyun Jung, and there were a lot of Korean beef restaurants near the filming location. They would always give us raw liver and tripe as service, and since I love them, I ate a lot,” he shared.
But things took a serious turn when he went for a health check-up that same year. “I had a CT scan, and my lungs had turned white. I had just gotten married, and the doctor told me, ‘You got parasites from eating too much raw liver and tripe.’ I seriously thought, ‘Am I going to die?’” Kwon Sang Woo revealed.
Thankfully, the doctor assured him that it would clear up naturally. “I took parasite medicine, and after that, I avoided raw liver and tripe for several years,” he added.
Kwon Sang Woo has been married to former Miss Korea contestant Son Tae Young since 2008. The couple has a son born in 2009 and a daughter born in 2015.
Meanwhile, his latest movie Hitman 2 has been doing great at the box office, surpassing 2.04 million viewers as of February 4.
