• Mijoo Refuses to Talk About Breakup with Song Beomkeun on First Public Appearance - Here's Why

Mijoo, the MC of Couple Palace , recently made headlines for avoiding questions about her breakup with soccer player Song Beomkeun during a press event.

On February 4th, the production presentation for the much-anticipated Mnet variety show Couple Palace took place at the Eliena Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. The event was attended by key figures including CP Lee Sun-young, PD Jung Min-seok, MCs Kim Jong-kook, Yoo Se-yoon, Mijoo, and the couple managers Kang Bada, Miranda, and Jeong Soo-mi.

Couple Palace is a high-stakes couple-matching survival show where singles compete to find their perfect marriage partner, using a realistic matching system inspired by marriage agencies. The first season, which aired last year, became a hit, forming 12 couples.

During the event, Mijoo shared her thoughts on what makes a successful match on the show. She emphasized the importance of "Tiki-taka (communication)" saying, "Good conversation is key to moving forward. It's important to open up your heart when having a conversation."

Mijoo also confessed that she has started to genuinely root for the participants on the show. She said, "There was someone who truly looked at another person with sincerity. I began to cheer for them and felt affection. I thought that if they were connected to someone else, it would be okay. They were all great people."

However, the event gained extra attention as it marked Mijoo's first public appearance since rumors of her breakup with Song Beomkeun surfaced. Last April, Mijoo and Song Beomkeun went public with their relationship, but recently reports claimed they had split. Mijoo's agency, Antenna, has since commented, "We ask for your understanding as we are unable to confirm details regarding the artist's personal life."

When questioned about her breakup, Mijoo firmly responded, "Today is a day for Couple Palace, so I will only be taking questions about Couple Palace."

Couple Palace is set to premiere on February 5th at 10:40 PM, and fans are eagerly awaiting to see what’s next.

  • ‘When the Stars Gossip’ Ends with Low Ratings—Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin’s Space Drama Fails to Take Off

SBS’s ambitious space romance drama When the Stars Gossip wrapped up its journey, but its ratings remained low until the very end.

According to Nielsen Korea on February 24, the final episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 2.5%.

While this was a slight rise from the previous episode’s 1.8%, the drama ultimately stayed in the 2% range. Its highest rating was 3.9%, achieved early in episode 2.

Despite featuring top stars like Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin and being Korea’s first-ever "space office drama", When the Stars Gossip struggled to capture a large audience.

The drama gained attention for its advanced filming techniques, using special equipment to mimic real zero-gravity movements and digital character synthesis to enhance the space-like visuals. However, even with these efforts, it failed to maintain strong ratings.

Many had high hopes for this space romance, but the slow pacing and mixed audience reactions led to an underwhelming performance.

Viewers were particularly divided over its emotional yet unexpected finale, leaving some satisfied while others felt disappointed.

With When the Stars Gossip now over, SBS is set to premiere its new drama The Potato Lab, starring Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM KST.

Will this new series fare better? Stay tuned!
