  • Jeon So Yeon Gushes Over G-Dragon’s Support After Her Epic BIGBANG Cover Performance, Says "I Was Given the Official MR, I'm So Honored"

(G)I-DLE’s Jeon So Yeon recently opened up about her unforgettable cover performance of BIGBANG’s G-Dragon at the 2024 MBC Gayo Daejejeon!

The singer shared some exciting behind-the-scenes moments, revealing how much effort she put into making the special stage perfect.

On February 9th, (G)I-DLE released a behind-the-scenes video on their official YouTube channel, where Jeon So Yeon reflected on her performance as "JeonDragon".

Miyeon, a fellow (G)I-DLE member, explained how much Jeon So Yeon worked on the cover, saying, "As far as I know, So Yeon put a lot of effort into this stage."

Jeon So Yeon then spoke about her dedication, confessing, "I practiced really hard. Everyone at the company thought I was coming back as a solo artist. I didn’t want to cause trouble, but I tried my best. I know I’m still lacking, but I did my best."

She went on to share that her stage look was heavily inspired by G-Dragon’s iconic style, saying, "The hat I’m wearing is from G-Dragon’s brand. I’m really happy, but it’s also a bit overwhelming. I’m really grateful for the opportunity to do this. I’ve never covered G-Dragon before."

Jeon So Yeon even shared the detailed process of learning the song, revealing how she paid close attention to G-Dragon’s unique pronunciation.

She said "I didn’t record with the lyrics I picked out. I listened to the song through earphones and wrote each lyric down because I heard G-Dragon deliberately altered his pronunciation in some parts."

Describing her mindset, Jeon So Yeon said, "I will approach this with the mindset of a rookie," adding that performing alone on stage made her feel "excited, nervous, and a bit lonely."

She wore G-Dragon's signature scarf, staying true to the original performance while putting her own spin on the track 'POWER'.

After finishing her intense performance, Jeon So Yeon expressed how she felt, saying, "I feel like I’m going to die. I was so out of breath and nervous."

However, upon watching the performance, she was proud, saying, "I like it." She then gave a heartfelt shout-out to her idol, G-Dragon, saying, "I’m such a huge fan of G-Dragon. It’s such an honor to cover his song."

Jeon So Yeon wrapped up by expressing her gratitude, saying, "It was the official MR, and I’m so thankful that I got to do this."

This epic cover not only shows Jeon So Yeon’s love for G-Dragon but also her incredible dedication and hard work to bring his iconic track to life!
