BTS member Jimin is continuing to prove his massive influence in the global music scene, setting yet another impressive milestone.
On January 27, Spotify confirmed that Jimin's solo track "Who", from his second solo album MUSE, has officially surpassed 1.4 billion streams.
And the best part? He did it in just 191 days – making it the fastest time for any K-pop artist’s song to hit this achievement!
Not only did Jimin break his own record, but he also took down some major names in the process. His "Who" outpaced Harry Styles’ previous record of 197 days for the fastest solo song by a male global artist to reach 1.4 billion streams.
Plus, it beat out popular tracks like Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' "Die With A Smile", Billie Eilish’s "Birds of a Feather", and Sabrina Carpenter’s "Espresso", landing at number 4 on the all-time fastest tracks on Spotify.
This incredible achievement follows Jimin’s previous record set on January 15, when "Who" surpassed 1.328 billion streams, making it the most-streamed K-pop solo song on Spotify, beating his own hit "Like Crazy" from his debut solo album FACE. It’s clear – when it comes to breaking records, Jimin does it best!
Released on July 19, 2023, "Who" has had staying power, continuing to dominate charts worldwide without any major collaborations or official promotions.
In fact, just recently on January 25, the track secured its place at 10th on the Spotify Global Daily Chart with an impressive 4.31 million streams. That marked the 191st consecutive day that "Who" appeared on the chart.
But that’s not all – Jimin’s "Who" also made history by becoming the first and only K-pop song to remain in the Top 10 of Spotify's Global Daily Top Songs Chart for 160 days, extending that streak to 161 days on January 25.
With these record-breaking feats, it’s clear Jimin is only just getting started in showing his undeniable dominance on the global stage.
