• NewJeans Shocks Fans with Plans for a New Temporary Name — "We Want to Hear From You"

NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) surprised fans by announcing they’ll use a temporary activity name and are asking their fans, “Bunnies,” to help choose it!

On January 23, the group took to their newly launched social media account, sharing, “Bunnies! We’re accepting suggestions for a new activity name that we’ll use for a certain period of time. Please participate in the comments!” They added, “Please share lots of good name ideas, and we’ll pick one!” Fans were thrilled by the announcement and flooded the comments with creative ideas.

This announcement comes after a major dispute last November, where NewJeans held an emergency press conference to demand the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR and announce their decision to leave HYBE.

During the press conference, the members didn’t hold back, stating, “The reason we are leaving ADOR is very simple. NewJeans is an artist under ADOR, and ADOR has a duty to protect us. However, ADOR lacks both the willingness and the capability to protect NewJeans. Staying here would be a waste of time, and the mental anguish would only continue. More importantly, we see no professional benefit to remaining under ADOR. The five of us see no reason to stay.”

Since then, NewJeans has been taking steps toward a fresh start. In December, they created a new social media account under the name “jeanz for free,” signaling their independence from ADOR and HYBE. On January 23, the group also announced that they had appointed law firm Sejong as their legal representative to handle the ongoing legal battle.

In a firm statement, NewJeans declared, “We want to be clear. The five of us have no intention of ever returning to HYBE or ADOR, where even the minimum expectations of good faith cannot be met. Through legal proceedings, we will expose the wrongdoings of ADOR and HYBE, reveal the truth, and fight confidently in court.”

Fans are standing strong behind the group, eagerly waiting to see what their temporary name will be and how their journey will unfold. Bunnies, what name would you suggest?

  • Seo Kang Joon’s ‘Undercover High School’ Takes Over—Becomes the Most Talked-About Drama in Just One Week

Seo Kang Joon is proving his star power as his new drama Undercover High School takes the top spot in buzz rankings.

On February 24, Good Data Corporation, a company that tracks online reactions to K-content, announced that MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Undercover High School ranked #1 in TV-OTT drama buzz for the third week of February.

Not only that, but lead actor Seo Kang Joon also topped the TV-OTT drama actor buzz rankings, showing just how much viewers are loving his performance.

The drama follows a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who goes undercover as a high school student to retrieve Emperor Gojong’s lost gold bars.

Seo Kang Joon plays the elite NIS agent Jung Hae Sung, who ditches his suit for a school uniform to complete his mission.

Despite tough competition from SBS’s Buried Hearts (ranked #2) and tvN’s My Dearest Nemesis (ranked #6), Undercover High School secured the top spot, largely thanks to Seo Kang Joon’s performance.

According to Good Data Corporation’s Won Soon Woo, “Based on netizens’ sentiment analysis, Seo Kang Joon was chosen as the actor who best suits his male lead role among the three new dramas. The positive response to his visuals and acting has directly boosted the drama’s popularity.”

Meanwhile, Netflix originals are also making waves, with The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and Melo Movie ranking #3 and #4, while the highly anticipated When Life Gives You Tangerines entered the chart at #8 before its release.

Other school-themed dramas are also gaining attention, with Friendly Competition (U+ Mobile TV) and Study Group landing at #5 and #9, respectively.

MBC’s Undercover High School, starring Seo Kang Joon, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST.
