• Song Hye Kyo Gets Real About Life After Divorce, Career Changes, and Finding Peace: "It’s About Time I Receive Some Blessings"

Actress Song Hye Kyo recently opened up about her life struggles, personal growth, and career transformation during an appearance on the YouTube channel Yo Jeong Jae Hyung on January 12.

With her chic short haircut, the The Glory star entered Jeong Jae Hyung’s cozy home, sparking compliments right away.

"Your face is even smaller than Haedeum's (his dog). It’s been so long. You look so beautiful", Jeong Jae Hyung said.

Song Hye Kyo laughed and explained, "I cut my hair short for my new project. It still feels unfamiliar to me." Despite his continued praise—"It suits you so well—you look like a baby"—she chuckled, saying, "There’s no way I look like a baby".

The actress has been making headlines lately for stepping out of her comfort zone. After her recent vlog debut on Kang Min Kyung’s channel and an appearance on You Quiz on the Block, fans noticed a shift in her attitude.

She explained, "I just felt like trying new things these days. Now that I’m older, I’m thankful for the interest people still have in me."

Jeong Jae Hyung couldn’t help but point out her serene demeanor. "You seemed like such a baby before, but now you look so at ease," he said.

Song Hye Kyo reflected, "I’ve been hearing that a lot lately. Over the years, I’ve experienced so much as a woman and an actress—tough times, happy times. Through it all, I’ve learned a lot about life, and I feel at peace now."

When asked about her bold performance in The Glory, she revealed her initial doubts. "I’d been stuck in similar roles for so long that even I got bored with my acting. I thought, ‘If I’m feeling this way, viewers must be even more tired of it.’"

She added, "So when The Glory came out, I didn’t think people would have high expectations. But because I returned with such a completely different revenge-driven character, it made the contrast more shocking and exciting for the audience."

Reflecting on her career choices, she admitted, "If I had taken on a wider variety of genres earlier, people wouldn’t have said, ‘Song Hye Kyo always plays the same roles.’ But I kept doing similar projects, and both I and the viewers ended up bored."

Song Hye Kyo also took a moment to praise her talented co-stars from The Glory and Cobweb. "Their passion and dedication inspire me so much. Sometimes I think, ‘Hye Kyo, why aren’t you thinking as deeply as they are? You should reflect more too.’ It’s humbling and motivating to work with such amazing junior actors," she said.

Jeong Jae Hyung then touched on her past struggles in China during her 30s, saying, "It seems like all the tough times are paying off now."

With a lighthearted laugh, Song Hye Kyo responded, "It’s about time I get some blessings. I think it’s my turn now."

As many fans know, Song Hye Kyo married actor Song Joong Ki in 2017 after meeting on the set of KBS2’s Descendants of the Sun. However, their marriage ended two years later in a mutual divorce.

Fans reacted warmly to her candid and reflective interview, with comments like, "She’s so genuine and inspiring," "Her growth is beautiful to witness," and "Hye Kyo deserves all the happiness coming her way!"

  • Han Ji Min and Lee Jun Hyuk’s Drama 'Love Scout' Sparks Controversy, Director’s Past Assault and Defamation Case Resurfaces

The upcoming SBS drama Love Scout, starring Han Ji Min and Lee Jun Hyuk, is already making headlines—but for all the wrong reasons.

Recent revelations about the show’s co-director, Ham Joon Ho, have sparked controversy. It was revealed that Ham Joon Ho had faced legal issues in 2020 for assault and defamation while intoxicated.

This incident led to disciplinary action within SBS and has raised questions about his involvement in the new project.

On January 13, the production team of Love Scout released an official apology, saying, "We deeply regret causing concern with unpleasant news related to PD Ham Joon Ho."

They confirmed the allegations, stating, "It is true that PD Ham Joon Ho was accused of assault and defamation while intoxicated in early 2020. However, he sincerely apologized to all victims, and the matter was resolved through forgiveness and mutual agreement."

They added, "He also received legal punishment for the incident. Additionally, reports about his prior criminal record from five years ago are unrelated to this case, as they involve a misdemeanor."

The team explained that Ham Joon Ho was suspended from his duties following the incident and spent three years reflecting on his actions before returning to directing. They added, "We kindly ask for viewers’ understanding."

The controversy began after online posts brought up the 2020 incident, sharing a news article from that time. The article described an SBS drama department employee, referred to as “A,” causing a disturbance in Hannam-dong, Seoul, while intoxicated. Police booked “A,” and due to their prior criminal record, an arrest warrant was requested but later denied.

It was later confirmed that “A” was PD Ham Joon Ho. After serving his suspension, he made his directorial comeback with the SBS drama Payback before taking on Love Scout.

Despite the production team's apology, the controversy has cast a shadow over the highly anticipated drama, leaving viewers wondering how it will impact the show’s reception.
