  • GFRIEND Clears the Air About Their Reunion After 4 Years: "We Never Disbanded, It Was Just the End of Our Contract"

GFRIEND is back together after four years, and they have a lot to share about their long-awaited reunion.

On the 10th episode of KBS 2TV's The Seasons - Lee Young Ji's Rainbow, GFRIEND made a special appearance as guests, where they opened up about their break and comeback.

Sowon from GFRIEND set the record straight, saying, "There were many articles referring to a disbandment, but it was not a disbandment. It was the end of our contract. It wasn't a disbandment." This clears up any confusion, as GFRIEND reunited after a four-year break.

Umji also shared her thoughts, saying, "The 10th anniversary is significant and meaningful. We’ve always thought, even subconsciously, that we should do something monumental to mark it."

The members also took a trip down memory lane and recalled their early days, including a memorable stage mishap. Yuju recalled falling several times during their debut performance due to heavy rain, which earned her the nickname "Kkwadang Yuju" (a playful reference to her falls). She laughed and shared, "It started raining heavily as soon as our stage began. I thought it was an accident as I got on stage. The members couldn’t make it to the center, everyone was slipping, and I fell the most dramatically."

Yuju revealed one of her strengths and weaknesses, saying, "I don’t feel pain well. So I just went with it. One of the things I’m good at is self-hypnosis. Every time I fell on stage, I just thought to myself, 'No one saw that.'"

GFRIEND's reunion is more than just a celebration of their anniversary—it's a return to the group they’ve always been. Fans are excited to see what’s next for these talented stars.
