• Song Hye Kyo Opens Up Like Never Before in 'You Quiz on the Block,' Clears Rumors and Wins Hearts with Record-Breaking Ratings

Actress Song Hye Kyo has finally opened up on You Quiz on the Block, sharing her struggles, growth, and triumphs, leaving viewers both moved and captivated!

According to Nielsen Korea, the 275th episode of the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block, which aired on January 8, achieved impressive ratings. The episode reached an average of 6.3% and a peak of 8.1% in the metropolitan area. Nationwide, the show scored an average of 5.6% and peaked at 7.5%, taking the No. 1 spot in its time slot across all channels, including both cable and general networks.

The episode, which served as a "New Year's Special," featured fascinating guests: Min Jun Hong, a member of South Korea's first Antarctic research team at the King Sejong Station, and actress Song Hye Kyo. Song Hye Kyo’s appearance marked her first talk show in 23 years, and she didn’t hold back as she shared heartfelt stories and even humorous memories from her time filming Autumn in My Heart with Song Seung Heon.

The You Quiz episode also touched on the captivating stories from the Antarctic research team, who faced life-risking situations in the harsh cold of Antarctica, including their discovery of a zombie virus due to climate change. But it was Song Hye Kyo who truly stole the spotlight.

Having been in the spotlight for 28 years, Song Hye Kyo reflected on her personal and professional journey. She spoke openly about how she struggled with self-doubt and the pain caused by rumors, even admitting that before landing her role in The Glory, she was growing bored of acting. But things took a turn after she started practicing self-reflection—something she’s been doing daily for the past five years.

Song Hye Kyo shared that, with the encouragement of The Glory writer Noh Hee Kyung, she now practices every morning and night. She writes down her goals for the day in the morning and reflects on 10 things she is grateful for in the evening. “On the first day of my practice, I couldn’t think of 10 things to be grateful for. I always thought about big things, but once I started being grateful for the little things, I realized there were so many,” she said, revealing how this helped her learn to love herself.

Her role in The Glory marked a turning point in her career, as she confessed that stepping into her 40s made her realize she couldn’t rely on her looks anymore. It was a challenging role, but she felt a renewed sense of excitement for her craft.

Both MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho were in awe of her candidness and wisdom, admiring her personal growth. "She’s reached a level of enlightenment," said Yoo Jae Suk, while Jo Se Ho commented, "Now I understand why it’s called swamp talk."

Song Hye Kyo was grateful for the opportunity to share her journey and expressed her thanks to the show’s hosts, even sharing behind-the-scenes photos on her social media to show her appreciation.

Next week, You Quiz on the Block will feature more incredible guests, including legendary students who supported the university entrance exam, Buddhist monk Beopryun, and K-pop idols Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin of IVE, who are making waves in both music and variety. Stay tuned.
