• BTS's Jin Takes the #1 Spot in IdolPick's Weekly Vote for 5th Week of December, Breaking Records with His Massive Popularity

BTS's Jin has proven his incredible popularity once again by securing the top spot in IdolPick's weekly poll, making him the most voted male idol for the 5th week of December 2024.

From December 30 to January 5, Jin received an impressive 60,150 votes, earning first place in the male idol category and becoming the overall weekly winner with the highest number of votes across all categories.

IdolPick rewards the top idols who receive the most votes in a two-week period by giving them a three-day advertisement on a massive outdoor billboard at Seodaemun Station. Jin’s incredible fan support earned him a spot on the billboard for the 144th round of IdolPick, where his advertisement will be displayed on a giant screen at Lotte Avenue in central Seoul from January 16 to January 18.

Over the two-week period from December 23 to January 5, Jin accumulated a total of 111,842 votes, solidifying his status as one of the top idols in the rankings. This marks another major achievement in his career.

Not only did he take the top spot for the 5th week of December, but Jin also broke records last year. He dominated the weekly polls in the male idol category for 10 consecutive weeks from September to November 2024. He was also the top-voted idol from August to November, making him the best idol for four months in a row.

Jin's reward advertisement as the "Best Idol of November" was showcased on 24 multi-vision screens at seven subway stations in the metropolitan area, starting on December 16 and running through January 12.

On top of all this, Jin’s first solo album Happy, which was released on November 15, and its title track, "Running Wild," have recently been featured in Amazon Music's 2025 Playlist, making him the only male K-pop artist on the list. This further highlights his global influence and popularity, solidifying his place as a true superstar.

  • Seo Kang Joon’s ‘Undercover High School’ Takes Over—Becomes the Most Talked-About Drama in Just One Week

Seo Kang Joon is proving his star power as his new drama Undercover High School takes the top spot in buzz rankings.

On February 24, Good Data Corporation, a company that tracks online reactions to K-content, announced that MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Undercover High School ranked #1 in TV-OTT drama buzz for the third week of February.

Not only that, but lead actor Seo Kang Joon also topped the TV-OTT drama actor buzz rankings, showing just how much viewers are loving his performance.

The drama follows a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who goes undercover as a high school student to retrieve Emperor Gojong’s lost gold bars.

Seo Kang Joon plays the elite NIS agent Jung Hae Sung, who ditches his suit for a school uniform to complete his mission.

Despite tough competition from SBS’s Buried Hearts (ranked #2) and tvN’s My Dearest Nemesis (ranked #6), Undercover High School secured the top spot, largely thanks to Seo Kang Joon’s performance.

According to Good Data Corporation’s Won Soon Woo, “Based on netizens’ sentiment analysis, Seo Kang Joon was chosen as the actor who best suits his male lead role among the three new dramas. The positive response to his visuals and acting has directly boosted the drama’s popularity.”

Meanwhile, Netflix originals are also making waves, with The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and Melo Movie ranking #3 and #4, while the highly anticipated When Life Gives You Tangerines entered the chart at #8 before its release.

Other school-themed dramas are also gaining attention, with Friendly Competition (U+ Mobile TV) and Study Group landing at #5 and #9, respectively.

MBC’s Undercover High School, starring Seo Kang Joon, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST.
