• Gong Hyo Jin Shocks Fans with Bold Statement: “If ‘Boys Over Flowers’ Aired Now, It Would Get Lee Min Ho Sued!”, You Won’t Believe Why

Actress Gong Hyo Jin has made an eye-opening comment about the classic drama Boys Over Flowers, starring Lee Min Ho, revealing just how different things would be if it aired today. On January 6, Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin appeared together on the popular YouTube channel Chanhanhyeong Shindongyeop, where they got real about their roles and more.

During the episode, Lee Min Ho talked about their new drama Ask the Stars, mentioning that it has some wild elements. He joked, saying, "Our drama features sperm," explaining that the plot involves a chaebol family at risk of extinction because of deteriorating sperm. To save themselves, they go to space to fix it!

The hosts were clearly shocked, with Shin Dong Yeob calling it "innovative," but Gong Hyo Jin wasn’t done with the surprises. Hesitantly, she responded, "The reason we went to space was... what should I say..." before bluntly adding, "Sex." She explained that the drama covers topics like mating, childbirth, and sex, saying it all comes up very openly.

Then the conversation took an even more unexpected turn when Lee Min Ho talked about the huge wave of criticism he received for his role in Boys Over Flowers. He shared how his mini homepage was flooded with hateful comments after the first episode aired, especially because his character tortured Geum Jan Di. Lee Min Ho said, "Around 600,000 people came and cursed me out. But after the second episode, the hate turned into affection."

Gong Hyo Jin couldn't help but comment, "If it aired now, you'd be sued," to which Lee Min Ho humorously replied, "It wouldn’t even be a lawsuit, I wouldn’t even be able to appear on the broadcast."

The two actors also reminisced about the memes that still follow Lee Min Ho, including the infamous fire extinguisher incident. Lee Min Ho even admitted, "Looking at my hair back then, even I think I wasn't in my right mind. I went to the audition with that hair. I was desperate."

Of course, the fun didn’t stop there! The two actors joked about their YouTube viewership, with Lee Min Ho revealing, "Gong Hyo Jin is the one who really cares about those things. People think I would care, but I don’t. She’s the one who pays attention to that." Gong Hyo Jin playfully urged Lee Min Ho, "You should become a meme," causing everyone to laugh.

In a hilarious moment, Gong Hyo Jin even wondered aloud, "Should we just dance or something?" to which Shin Dong Yeob teased, "You two dancing would be so boring. Becoming a meme is way more fun," making everyone burst into laughter once again.

It’s clear that the dynamic between Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Min Ho is full of surprises and laughter, and their fans can’t get enough of it.

  • IU melts hearts by helping young actress Kim Tae Yeon pick a dress for her first awards show and even goes shopping with her

IU has once again warmed hearts with her sweet and caring nature — this time by personally helping young actress Kim Tae Yeon get ready for her very first awards show.

The two actresses both played the same character, Ae Soon, in different stages of life in the Netflix drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines". IU played the adult version while Kim Tae Yeon touched viewers with her emotional performance as young Ae Soon.

Even though Kim Tae Yeon doesn’t have an agency yet, IU made sure the young star wouldn’t be alone. According to insiders, IU personally visited a dress shop with Kim Tae Yeon to help her pick out a beautiful outfit. She even helped with hair and makeup plans, making sure Tae Yeon could shine at the upcoming 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, where both actresses are nominated.

Kim Tae Yeon’s mom posted about the moment on Instagram, saying:

“Tae Yeon met IU unnie and told me to say thank you. Words aren’t enough to express how grateful we are. We were so surprised by her unexpected visit, and her thoughtful care truly touched our hearts. Thank you again to IU for the gift.”

The post also showed a happy Kim Tae Yeon holding IU’s present and choosing a dress — a moment that melted fans’ hearts.

IU is well-known in the industry for her generosity and kindness. While filming "You Have Done Well", she reportedly gave thoughtful gifts and created a warm, friendly vibe on set for everyone, from co-stars to staff.

The drama itself became a big hit, earning praise both in Korea and overseas. IU, Park Bo Gum, Yeom Hye Ran, Choi Dae Hoon, and Kim Tae Yeon all received Baeksang nominations — a huge achievement, especially for the young star.

Kim Tae Yeon, born in 2011, has been acting since she was little and appeared in dramas like Crash Landing on You, A Dog’s Love Today, and Gyeongseong Creature. But her powerful acting in "When Life Gives You Tangerines" truly made people cry, smile, and remember her name.

IU didn’t stop at helping Kim Tae Yeon. She also invited fellow cast members Moon So Ri, Park Hae Joon, Ahn Tae Rin, and more to her concert, sending them gifts to show her love and support.

In an earlier interview, IU talked about giving gifts to so many people. She humbly said,

“As I do more projects, there are more people I’m thankful for, but it’s not as hard as people think. I just hope the people receiving the gifts feel happy.”

Talking about the drama, she added,

“It was such a grand project. Just being part of it was a blessing. It made me think, ‘Ji Eun, you really experienced something amazing.’ I’m grateful I could work with such great people.”

Once again, IU has proved she’s not just a talented singer and actress — she’s also a true “Good Deed Queen.”
