• Girls' Generation's Taeyeon Explains Why She Was Absent from SM’s 30th Anniversary Concert in Shocking Post: "They Didn’t Prepare Anything"

Girls' Generation’s Taeyeon has just revealed the real reason behind her absence from the SM Entertainment 30th Anniversary Concert, and it’s causing quite a stir among fans! In a candid post on January 6, Taeyeon opened up about the behind-the-scenes issues with her agency, SM Entertainment, that led to her not performing at the major event.

Earlier in December, SM Entertainment had announced that Taeyeon would not be part of the SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL concert, which left fans wondering what happened. The official statement said, "Taeyeon from Girls' Generation will not be participating in the SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL concert. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the change in the lineup. Cancellations and refunds can be processed through the customer service center of the ticketing platform, with no cancellation fees."

But now, Taeyeon has spoken out and shared her side of the story on the fan platform Bubble, giving a deeper insight into the situation.

“I really wanted to perform on stage,” Taeyeon confessed. “I was so eager to sing two or three songs. I told the company about it and waited, but to get straight to the point, they didn’t prepare anything for me. So, I couldn’t perform at all. It’s not because I didn’t want to do it or didn’t have motivation.”

She also expressed her frustration, saying, “I just want to give my all on stage, but they didn’t help me make that happen. I’ve been seriously thinking about it. What is going on? I’m telling you all this to avoid any misunderstandings from my fans (S♡NE, Girls' Generation's fandom).”

Taeyeon even responded to a fan’s suggestion that the company may have had its own reasons for not including her. She explained, “The reason they didn’t communicate it was because they ‘forgot,’ and I can understand how that could be awkward.”

Taeyeon debuted as a member of Girls' Generation in 2007 under SM Entertainment and has been a defining figure in the K-pop industry, especially as part of the second-generation girl groups. Fans are now left wondering what this means for her relationship with SM Entertainment and what will come next for Taeyeon’s future.

The SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL concert will take place on January 11 and 12 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, with fans eagerly awaiting performances from other major artists under SM Entertainment.
