• Im Si Wan’s Heartfelt Apology for His ‘Squid Game 2’ Role Will Make You Question His Character!

Actor Im Si Wan has officially apologized for his character's actions in Squid Game 2, leaving fans talking about his heartfelt message.

On January 6th, Netflix’s official YouTube channel posted a video where Im Si Wan opens up about his controversial role as Myung Gi in the hit series.

In Squid Game 2, Im Si Wan’s character, Myung Gi, plays a former lover to Jo Yu Ri’s character, Jun Hee. The two reunite after they both participate in the deadly game for the 456 billion won prize.

But things take a dark turn when Myung Gi reacts coldly to the news that Jun Hee is pregnant, saying, "How can we raise a child now? We don't even have money." His harsh words shocked viewers and left Im Si Wan questioning if his character could ever be forgiven.

Im Si Wan explained, "Before I introduce the character of Myung Gi, I think I should apologize. First of all, I apologize. Myung Gi was a cryptocurrency YouTuber who, despite being scammed, caused a lot of damage to others and became a fugitive. He participates in the game and ends up ghosting Jun Hee. He’s not a bad person, but his lack of wisdom leads him to make terrible decisions."

One of the most shocking moments in the drama is when Myung Gi abandons Yeong Mi after she loses her grip during the game.

Reflecting on the moment, Im Si Wan said, "Can Myung Gi be forgiven here? He has crossed a river he can't return from." He expressed regret, saying that Myung Gi’s actions were driven by the need for survival, but it still left a bad impression on viewers.

Despite his character’s actions, Im Si Wan also tried to explain Myung Gi’s choices, saying, "I thought Yeong Mi couldn't have survived. Everyone in the room could have died. Thanks to my quick thinking, everyone, including Jun Hee, was able to survive. But then they blame me for Yeong Mi’s death, and I felt an explosion of injustice. I don’t think people will sympathize with him, though," which gave fans a mix of laughter and empathy.

Jo Yu Ri, who starred alongside Im Si Wan in the drama, also recalled a funny behind-the-scenes moment, saying, "Oppa was running so fast while holding me. I could barely keep up, and I was running in a trance. He was like a hornet uncle—so fast! That’s why it fit the situation so well."

Im Si Wan’s honest reflections on his role have made fans think deeply about his character and the moral dilemmas presented in Squid Game 2. The actor’s apology has left viewers wondering: Can Myung Gi ever be forgiven?

  • Former JYP Trainee Song Minyoung Reveals Heartbreaking Story: “I Finished Recording My Debut Song, But Everything Got Canceled”

Former JYP Entertainment trainee Song Minyoung recently opened up about her emotional journey as a trainee and how her long-awaited debut was suddenly canceled.

A video titled "Idol Trainee, Working Holiday Traveler, and Teacher Go on a Trip" was uploaded to the YouTube channel GwakTube, where Song Minyoung shared her story.

In the video, GwakTube went on a two-day trip with fellow Koreans he met at a Japanese language school in Hokkaido. One of them was Song Minyoung, who previously appeared on Mnet’s 2015 survival show SIXTEEN—the program that formed TWICE. Back then, she was praised for her amazing vocal skills.

During dinner, GwakTube asked, "Do trainees have to diet a lot? I never thought I’d meet a former JYP trainee here in Japan."

Song Minyoung replied, "I never thought I’d meet GwakTube here either," before adding, "Trainees have to diet a lot. I started dieting when I was in eighth grade. I trained for six years, putting my entire middle and high school life into it."

When asked about the weight requirements, she revealed, "My standard weight was 47kg (103 lbs), but I was once told to lose more, down to 44kg (97 lbs)."

Then, she shared a heartbreaking experience: "Before TWICE debuted, there was already a group called SIXMIX, and six of us were supposed to debut. We had a set debut date, filmed a music video, and even finished recording our songs. But suddenly, everything got canceled."

She continued, "Then, out of nowhere, the company announced they would be launching SIXTEEN. So I participated, but while the others debuted, I was eliminated."

Song Minyoung admitted that the experience left a lasting impact on her: "I worked so hard to never feel ashamed in front of others. I used to believe that if I gave my all, I would succeed. But after going through this, I realized that effort alone isn’t enough. Since then, I haven't been able to put my all into anything again."

Listening to her, GwakTube shared his thoughts: "I’ve had times when I worked really hard, but things didn’t go my way, and times when I didn’t try as hard, yet things worked out. I think luck plays a big role. Hard work is important, but in the end, luck has to be on your side too."

Song Minyoung’s story is touching hearts, as many admire her perseverance despite the challenges she faced.
