• BTS’s Jungkook Shatters Records with ‘Golden: The Moment’ Exhibition, Dominates Monthly Bestseller Rankings

BTS’s Jungkook is once again proving why he's a global superstar! His solo exhibition Golden: The Moment has topped the charts as the number one monthly bestseller for July 2024, leaving fans in awe and continuing his reign of success.

According to Interpark’s Exhibition/Event Rankings, Golden: The Moment claimed the top spot for July 2024, with an impressive 11.3% sales share and the highest ticket sales of the month. The exhibition didn’t stop there—it stayed strong in the rankings, placing 4th in August and 7th in September, keeping its spot in the top 10 for three straight months. It even landed 15th in the 2024 Annual Exhibition/Event Rankings, showing just how powerful Jungkook’s influence is.

What’s even more impressive? Golden: The Moment is the only HYBE Insight exhibition to hit the top spot on Interpark’s monthly bestseller list this year!

When tickets for the exhibition went on sale on July 30, they flew off the shelves, quickly topping Interpark’s daily and weekly rankings. The “Limited Edition GOLDEN Music Frame Ticket,” which was available alongside regular tickets, sold out in just three minutes! The exhibition's merchandise also caused a frenzy, selling out almost immediately due to overwhelming demand.

Jungkook’s success doesn’t stop with the exhibition. His documentary film Jungkook: I Am Still has grossed a staggering $18.5 million (around 26.4 billion KRW), making it the highest-grossing music film event of 2024 and the top-earning film by an Asian solo artist.

And if that wasn’t enough, Jungkook celebrated a massive victory at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on November 13 (KST), winning Top K-Pop Album for his debut solo album Golden and Top Global K-Pop Song for his hit track Standing Next to You.

Despite serving in the military, Jungkook continues to break records. During a live broadcast titled "I Missed You So Much" on Weverse on November 19, he set a new record with an incredible 20.2 million cumulative viewers, the highest number of live viewers on the platform since it launched in 2019!

With Golden: The Moment dominating the charts, a record-breaking documentary, and multiple awards, Jungkook is showing that even while serving his country, his impact continues to grow stronger than ever!

  • Lim Ji Yeon Addresses Backlash Over Cheering for Jung Woo Sung Amid His Scandal, "I Didn’t Expect the Public’s Reaction"

Actress Lim Ji Yeon is finally opening up about the unexpected backlash she received after showing support for actor Jung Woo Sung during his controversial return to the public eye.

In an interview on January 23rd, following the end of her drama The Tale of Lady Ok, Lim Ji Yeon spoke candidly about the situation that caused a stir at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards in November last year.

At the event, Jung Woo Sung made his public return after facing controversy surrounding an “illegitimate child” with model Moon Ga Bi. While Jung Woo Sung took the stage to apologize, Lim Ji Yeon was seen clapping and cheering for him.

Reflecting on that moment, Lim Ji Yeon shared, "It was a brief moment, so it’s hard to say whether it was right or wrong." She added, "I didn’t expect the public’s reaction. On the other hand, I was cautious since The Tale of Lady Ok was airing at the time."

For those who missed it, Jung Woo Sung and Moon Ga Bi, who had been in a relationship since 2022, revealed last year that they were expecting a child.

The actor took full responsibility for the situation and issued an apology during the awards ceremony, saying, "I’m sorry for causing concern and disappointment to everyone who has shown me love and support. I will bear all the criticism, and I promise to take full responsibility as a father to my son".

However, while Jung Woo Sung addressed the controversy, it was Lim Ji Yeon’s show of support that sparked controversy.

She cheered enthusiastically for Jung Woo Sung, while actress Hye Ri, who was seated next to her, kept a neutral, expressionless face. This led to a wave of criticism from some netizens who questioned Lim Ji Yeon’s reaction.

It’s worth noting that Lim Ji Yeon’s agency, Artist Company, was co-founded by Jung Woo Sung and actor Lee Jung Jae, both of whom currently serve as directors.

Could this connection have influenced Lim Ji Yeon’s public display of support? She’s still processing the response, and fans are curious to know how she’ll handle the fallout moving forward.
