• Sunmi Opens Up About Gaining Weight and How She's Managing It After Thinking She Had a Fast Metabolism

Sunmi, the talented singer known for her solo career, has shared a surprising confession about her body and her lifestyle during a recent appearance on a popular YouTube show.

On December 18th, Sunmi joined TWICE's Tzuyu on the show My Favorite Camping, which aired on the YouTube channel Studio 특. Tzuyu couldn't hide her excitement about meeting her favorite older sister, and the two stars shared a heartwarming moment on screen.

When Tzuyu was asked about her favorite older sister, she admitted that while she had always admired Jeongyeon, it was actually Sunmi who was her bigger role model.

"The group I learned about before coming to Korea was Wonder Girls. I was 13 years old", Tzuyu said, revealing that she was a fan of Sunmi’s former group. Sunmi was touched by this, thanking Tzuyu for her kind words.

"When I debuted as a solo artist, Tzuyu said I was her role model, and that article got a lot of attention. I thought, ‘The Once (TWICE's fan club) will recognize me, maybe I can aim for a global career'", Sunmi shared, expressing her gratitude.

The conversation soon turned to their personal lives, where Sunmi revealed that she’s more of a homebody than people might think.

"I don’t go outside because I don’t have any plans. I think I’ve only had three plans this year, and one of them was with Tzuyu", Sunmi said, adding that the other plans were with Sohee and PD Park Jin Young. She laughed, "Thank you for taking me outside."

Sunmi also opened up about her love for food, but admitted that she has been struggling to manage her weight. "I really like food too. But now I have to manage it," she said.

"I used to think I had a fast metabolism, but I’ve gained weight." Sunmi confessed that when she gains weight, it tends to show in her upper body, and since her job requires her to be in front of the camera, it can be a concern. "If I gain weight in my face, it doesn’t look good on camera", she explained.

In a previous appearance on a variety show, Sunmi revealed that she gained 9 kg (about 20 lbs) during her "Main Character" promotions after experiencing a lot of stress. At one point, she even reached a weight of 50 kg (about 110 lbs), which she said made her feel like she was "going to die from stress."

Despite the challenges, Sunmi remains determined to manage her health while continuing her successful career.

Her honesty about body image and stress is sure to resonate with many fans, showing that even celebrities face struggles just like anyone else.

  • Kim Soo Hyun Faces Calls to Step Down from "Good Day" Amid Growing Controversy: "G-Dragon’s Show Is Supposed to Be Fun"

Kim Soo Hyun’s recent controversy is now affecting his appearance on MBC’s Good Day, with some viewers demanding that he leave the show.

On March 12, a post titled "ㄱㅅㅎ should step down" appeared on the viewer feedback section of Good Day, sparking discussion online.

The post’s author wrote, "G-Dragon’s show is supposed to be for fun, so what’s this controversy with ㄱㅅㅎ? He should voluntarily step down," directly calling for Kim Soo Hyun’s removal from the program.

Good Day is a music project variety show led by G-Dragon, where he collaborates with well-known figures from different fields to create a song representing the year. Kim Soo Hyun, who shares the same birth year as G-Dragon, was added to the show as part of the ’88 line, winning fans over with his friendly and lighthearted image.

However, things took a turn when Kim Soo Hyun became embroiled in controversy regarding allegations of a past romantic relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor. While his agency strongly denied the claims, calling them "false information," additional photos showing affectionate moments between the two—such as a cheek kiss—along with text messages sent by Kim Sae Ron, have only fueled the public’s doubts.

Although the viewer feedback post did not mention his full name, Kim Soo Hyun is the only cast member whose initials match "ㄱㅅㅎ," making it clear that the post was referring to him.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is also set to star in Disney+’s upcoming drama Knock-Off, with the first season scheduled to be released soon. However, with his controversy continuing to spread, even Knock-Off is facing growing concerns.
