In the midst of ongoing controversy surrounding WINNER’s Song Min Ho and his alleged poor performance as a social service worker, Person in Charge A has stepped forward to clarify the situation once again, following an investigation by the Military Manpower Agency.
A, who has been responsible for overseeing Song Min Ho’s attendance at the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility, spoke with Star News on the 19th to defend the singer. "I saw Minho at least once a day," A shared.
"I made sure to check if he came to work and get his signature." A acknowledged that sometimes, due to a busy schedule, they couldn’t verify his attendance first thing in the morning.
However, A reassured that the Military Manpower Agency is now reviewing the CCTV footage to verify any possible discrepancies, emphasizing that the claims of attendance manipulation are false. "I recorded everything according to the format set by the Military Manpower Agency", A confirmed.
A also revealed a shocking detail: around March to April, Song Min Ho was classified as unfit for alternative service due to his ongoing treatment for panic disorder and bipolar disorder.
"After discussing with the Military Manpower Agency, we agreed it would be best for Minho to be discharged early due to his health," A explained. "I advised him to be discharged, and the agency agreed that it could be justified." However, Song Min Ho was determined to continue his service and insisted on finishing it, despite the difficulties. "His will to continue was very strong", A said.
In light of recent allegations about his service, Song Min Ho took sick leave on the 18th and 19th, missing work. A described his condition, stating, "He is having a hard time leading a normal life. His condition fluctuates and was especially severe in February and April. He is still in a psychologically unstable state, and I’ve heard from his manager that he has been hospitalized."
Song Min Ho started his alternative service at the Mapo Facility Management Corporation in March of last year and later transferred to the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility in March this year.
A clarified that there were no errors or special treatment in the transfer process, explaining, "Through grievance counseling, it’s possible to request a change in work assignment. Minho was struggling with his new supervisor and his unstable mental state, so he requested the transfer."
Song Min Ho is set to complete his service and be discharged on December 23rd as planned. The Military Manpower Agency is currently reviewing his attendance records, and if any issues are found, his service may be extended.
YG Entertainment has previously stated that Song Min Ho’s sick leave was due to ongoing treatment before his service, and all leaves taken were in line with regulations.
