• BOYNEXTDOOR Named ‘Rookie of the Year’ by U.S. Consequence, Achieves Global Recognition in Just 18 Months!

BOYNEXTDOOR is making major waves in the K-pop world and beyond, and they've just been named "Rookie of the Year" by the prestigious U.S. publication Consequence!

Since debuting in May 2023, BOYNEXTDOOR has quickly become one of the hottest names in K-pop, impressing both fans and critics with their relatable music and outstanding performances.

After dropping their second mini album "HOW?" and third mini album "19.99," the group has been breaking records and capturing the hearts of fans across the globe.

The recognition from Consequence comes as no surprise. In their 2024 K-pop Yearbook, the outlet praised BOYNEXTDOOR’s rapid rise to fame, noting, "BOYNEXTDOOR has quickly established themselves as a powerful performance group, and they are accumulating fame so fast that the title of ‘rookie’ no longer seems fitting." Such high praise highlights the group's impressive journey, having only debuted in 2023.

In an interview, BOYNEXTDOOR shared their excitement and gratitude for the recognition, saying, “We feel incredibly thankful and proud for the love and support we’ve received this year. We are excited for 2025, which seems like it will be a year full of opportunities to learn and grow. We hope to spend even more time with ONEDOOR (their fandom) next year.”

The group’s rise in popularity is also reflected in their music achievements. Their title track "Nice Guy" from "19.99" ranked 25th in the HIT K-POP category at the USEN Music Award 2024, marking a significant achievement in Japan.

Meanwhile, their track "Parental Advisory" was recognized by Dazed, one of the UK’s leading magazines, as one of The 50 Best K-pop Tracks of 2024. The magazine praised the song’s humorous lyrics, highlighting BOYNEXTDOOR’s unique sense of humor and skill as songwriters and performers, despite having only debuted 18 months ago.

And there’s more to come! BOYNEXTDOOR’s first solo tour, "BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol.1' IN INCEON," took place in Incheon on December 14-15, and the group is gearing up for more shows across Asia in 2025.

Their upcoming tour will stop in cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, and more, with fans across 12 cities eagerly anticipating the chance to see them live.

With all these accomplishments under their belt already, BOYNEXTDOOR’s future is looking brighter than ever, and their fanbase is growing stronger by the day! Keep an eye on these rising stars—they’re here to stay!

  • EXO's Xiumin blocked from performing on KBS’s ‘Music Bank’? His agency says the broadcast station won’t even respond

Xiumin’s agency, ONE HUNDRED, has spoken out about his unexpected exclusion from KBS 2TV’s Music Bank.

On March 4, the agency released an official statement, saying, “Xiumin, under INB100, is preparing for his solo comeback with Interview X on March 10, his first in two years and six months."

They added, "We have tried multiple times to reach out to KBS to secure a stage for him, but they have completely ignored us.”

The agency also revealed shocking details, stating, “Recently, KBS unofficially told us that Xiumin cannot appear on Music Bank or any programs where SM Entertainment artists are also performing.”

They continued, “We have repeatedly contacted KBS, asking them to put the artist and his fans first, but they won’t even respond.”

ONE HUNDRED strongly criticized the situation, saying, “As a public broadcast station, KBS should not be making decisions based on a specific company’s stance."

They added, "This is extremely unfair. We have done everything we can to resolve this, and we’re deeply disappointed to have to break this news to fans.”

Despite the setback, the agency reassured fans, promising, “Even if Xiumin can’t appear on KBS, we won’t give up. We’ll find even better opportunities for him to showcase his performances in front of fans.”

Meanwhile, Xiumin, who moved to INB100 (a subsidiary of ONE HUNDRED LABEL) in 2023, is set to release his second mini-album, Interview X, on March 10.

Fans are now waiting to see how this situation unfolds.
