BTS's Jungkook has once again proven his unstoppable power in the music world! At the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), Jungkook made history by becoming the most-awarded K-pop solo artist ever.
The global superstar bagged two major awards this year. His first solo album, GOLDEN, won Top K-Pop Album, while his hit track Standing Next to You earned the Top Global K-Pop Song award. These wins marked a huge milestone for Jungkook as he continues to shine in his solo career.
This isn't Jungkook's first time winning big at the BBMAs. Last year, he took home the Top Global K-Pop Song award for his debut solo single Seven. With three BBMA trophies under his belt in just two years, Jungkook holds the record for the most awards won by a K-pop solo artist in BBMA history, a feat praised by international music media.
But the achievements don’t stop there. Jungkook also topped Billboard’s 2024 Billboard K-Pop Artist 100 list and was featured in Billboard's Greatest Pop Stars of 2023: Introduction & Honorable Mentions.
His solo album GOLDEN debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, making him the first Asian solo artist to reach this position. The album stayed on the chart for an impressive 24 consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, Standing Next to You debuted at No. 5 on the Hot 100 singles chart and maintained its position for 19 straight weeks.
Jungkook's dominance in 2024 includes earlier wins at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where he was crowned K-Pop Artist of the Year and took home the Best Music Video award for Seven. He also made history at the People's Choice Awards as the first Asian artist to win The Male Artist of the Year.
With each award and record, Jungkook continues to prove why he's one of the biggest stars in the world. Fans can't wait to see what he’ll achieve next!
