SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) is celebrating another huge achievement with their Japanese single "Shohikigen" (消費期限/소비기한), their 4th single, reaching impressive milestones in Japan!
On December 10, the Japan Record Association announced that "Shohikigen" has surpassed 500,000 units in cumulative shipments as of November, earning the prestigious "Double Platinum" certification. This is a huge honor, as the Japan Record Association awards certifications based on album shipments, with Double Platinum being awarded for over 500,000 units sold.
With this achievement, SEVENTEEN now has an impressive 18 Gold Disc-certified albums. Notably, this year alone, they’ve earned four certifications, including their best album "17 IS RIGHT HERE" (Double Platinum), the special unit Jeonghan & Wonwoo's single "THIS MAN" (Gold), and their mini album "SPILL THE FEELS" (Platinum). This proves their strong and consistent success in Japan!
Shohikigen also made a massive impact on the charts, topping the Oricon Daily Album Ranking right after its release on November 27 and holding the number 1 spot for nine days in a row. The track also claimed the top spots in the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking (for the week of December 9), the Weekly Combined Single Ranking, and Billboard Japan’s Top Single Sales (for the week of December 4).
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN’s ongoing Japanese Dome Tour is a huge hit, with sold-out concerts all over Japan. After their successful shows at Vantelin Dome Nagoya at the end of November, their Tokyo Dome concerts on December 4–5 received rave reviews from local media, with outlets like Tokyo Chunichi Sports calling it “filled with energy” and Nikkan Sports describing it as “proving their overwhelming popularity.” The tour continues with stops at Kyocera Dome Osaka (December 12, 14–15) and PayPay Dome Fukuoka (December 19, 21–22).
In addition, SEVENTEEN’s mini album "SPILL THE FEELS" was recently included in Billboard’s “25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2024: Staff Picks”. Billboard praised the album's diverse musical range, saying, "From the captivating disco ("Rain") to the addictive Miami bass ("Eyes on You"), SPILL THE FEELS still shows SEVENTEEN's endless ambition."
SEVENTEEN continues to dominate in both Japan and globally, showing no signs of slowing down!
